We just returned from our first real trip in our T2363. We went to Northshore Resort on Lake Oconee. We as newbies were a little nervous about pulling through Atlanta traffic but all went well. The site we had was alittle difficult to get into (remember our newbie problem), but we had a kind neighbor who helped guide my DH right into it. We now feel more comfortable with everything. Just as everone does, we ended up with the usual list of things forgotten or didn't know we would need. We had some rain and cooler weather but enjoyed our time inside all the same. Thanks to everyone who has welcomed us to the Sunline family! Deb

Deb, I am glad to hear that everything went well. Don't worry, the backing up thing gets eaiser every time you do try it. (Espically for me, because I let mu hubby do it! ) I still forget stuff, too!

HI Deb,

Glad you had a good maiden voyage, they get easier each time you go. You'll find you forget less, and desire more  I sure was hoping for a warm-up instead of a cold spell as I'm headed out to Pigeon Forge tomorrow for a week, gonna be chilly I'm afraid. Oh Well, a chilly day is better than any work day :D Keep us posted about your next trip.

Great to hear you had good maiden voyage.

Kitty, good luck in Piegon Forge! My wife's from Gattlinburg, and we avoid that place like the plague due to all the traffic.

10 years ago, it was great, a little busy, but still fun. We had to go back a few years ago to see some family, and it took us an hour just to get from one side of town to the other  It reminded me of the strip in Vegas :(

The backing up thing gets easier each time you do it. If you have the time, bring a few orange cones to an empty parking lot and spend a few hours practicing. Back when I used to haul heavy equipment, that's what we would tell the newbies to do to get used to backing up.

Was this Lake Oconee in South Carolina?

Do you use walkie-talkies/two-radios when backing up.?
They can save a trailer/awning/marriage/relationship some times.......assuming you push the right buttons.

The other funny thing about backing up, is that you memory is temporarily wiped clean each spring from now to eternity, when you do it on the first trip of the year.

Just relax (both parties!) and take it slow. I also find it wise to stop and the sound of falling trees or screaming neighboors

Mark, Lake Oconee is near Greensboro, Ga., east of Atlanta on I 20. That was our first backing experience in a campground. We did have walkie talkies with us but lucky for us our neighbor came out and handled my part in it. My brother has told me some funny stories of things he has seen while camping. I just hope we don't end up in someone's story file one day!! Thanks for the tips. Deb

Mark,

I agree, my memory seems to be wiped clean every year too. That's why I try to back up trailers year round, even if its with the little yard trailer behind the lawn tractor, once the 6" of snow is plowed, of course! So far, that seems to work pretty good, though practicing on the real thing is far better.
