It's October

Dang-it Mack,

You'll be 30 minutes from me, but I am heading out to a Samboree in Harrisonburg, VA at 4pm on the 19th. Sorry I'll have to miss a chance to meet you both. Maybe next time your in this area.

We are heading to Southwoods Campground in Byron, NY the weekend of the 20th. One last trip and winterize the coach and drop it off at the dealer for a little warranty work.

Southwoods is having their Halloween weekend at that time. DW will be able to break out her broom and take a flight around.   Just kidding but she loves Halloween and does dress up as a witch.

We are heading out this weekend to a state park in North West Ohio. Work has been off the wall and "The Camper" needs to get out....and so do we. It's been almost a week and a 1/2 since we got back from the last trip.... :(

As far as packing it in for the winter, while we may winterize, that does not slow down the camping. Every other weekend the weather cooperates, (Some Sun and not below 30 during the day and no snow,) we are gone.... :D

However in Central Ohio that combination at times can take a month or more to come by.... Late fall, winter and early spring are great times to camp. No crowds and no bugs. Most times we only share the park with 1 maybe 2 other campers. Try it some time.

Here is a pic of Indian Lake State park that we are going to. This was a pic in early September.

Happy camping to all where ever it takes you.

Hi John - That is really a neat site that you had at the Indian Lake State Park. Where is that located? It looks like an area that we would like to see.

That park is in Lakeview Ohio. http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/indianlk/tabid/746/Default.aspx That link will take you there. It is a very large park and while it has a lot of sites, it is very spread out.

There is another park in the region as well, actually closer the IN state line.
http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/parks/lkloramie/tabid/758/Default.aspx Lake Loramie near Minster Ohio. It is smaller but is also has sites on the water. One of our favorites looks like this off the back of my camper.

And the front of the site

If you want more on either of thess parks PM me, have tons of pics and site numbers. We go to both often. We are tree and water people
