Is It Normal For My Husband To Drive Me Crazy?

I have a question for everyone out there that has a camper which they spend alot of time in.

As most of you probably know, Pat and I full time in a 2499 and I consider this "My House" Some how Pat has gotten the notion that a camper should be filled with stickers as to where we have been. I have to say that I love our outline of the US that shows all of the states that we have been in. I would also like to display a few (2-7) bumper stickers of our favorite places, but some how I have lost control of sticker placement on the camper.

Currently Pat has placed 23 bumper stickers on the back of the camper and he says he wants to completely cover the back of the Sunline with stickers. He assures me "That's what every one does when they full time" I have refused to let him place the other 14 stickers that he has bought and told him "This is our house"

My question is, does everyone actually do post stickers of every where they've been? If so, my next question is why?

Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Well, I sort of don't like stickers, so I keep them in hidden places. I would certainly not want them on my Sunline (unless it's a Sunline logo of course), so I have put them on my towing box. Sorry Pat, I have to side with Cindy on this on.

This thing has been all over and has stickers from many places.

Also, tell Pat that all those stickers will leave marks on the fiberglass and if you take them off, even with adhesive remover, there will still be a mark where the gel coat is not faded. Even though you may plan to not take the stickers off, they will eventally fade and fall off and you will be forced to see those marks. Carl Kern had a similar issue with stickers. He had logos of all the companies who dontated parts to his project on the side of his coach. Many of these were starting to fall off and he could see where the stickers were.

"NO" stickers on Sunny---anywhere. I have the USA map on the plexiglass on the door, and a few "stickers" taped inside the back window (used the smallest tad of scotch magic tape" that I could get away with. These stickers are right along each side, so not to interfere with any view, and easy to remove with no leftover affects.

Hey, PAT --- NO NO NO stickers on the fiberglass of the Sunline, they will leave a yucky mess. How about a photo album to display them in? Maybe you would still be able to "remove the stuck on ones" and include them in your "Stickers of where we have been album"? Take close up photos of them, in case they tear up while trying to remove them.

Oh, the sooner you get them off the less likely you'll have a bad after affect.

Kitty

PS: Cindy, I tried :)

Stickers are forbidden!!!! Don't like them at all!! Plus Sue would kill me if I did place a sticker anywhere near her Sunline. We do have a state outline but even that is on suction cups so it can come down when the window needs cleaned or we just want an unobstructed view of whereever we may be. Sorry Pat!!!!!!!!!!! M&S

Hi Cindy,

I agree with all the others, particularly Marshalls comment, I think my DW would do the same if I started put stickers on our Sunline.

I’ve only put 1 sticker on our Sunline, it’s the Sunline Owners Club bumper sticker.

I won’t put any other sticker on the trailer’s siding. Though I have put Good Sam stickers on the frame.

So here’s a compromise idea, tell Pat he can put all the stickers on the trailer he wants, but only on the frame :D .

Ho ya, Cindy, Yes it is normal for the husband to drive the wife crazy – it’s in the Manly Manual, didn’t you know that :D ?

Stickers

Sorry, have to agree. NO stickers on the "Coach". Get a scrap book with vinyl pages to display the places you been. That way when you get old and grey like me, you can get out the book and enjoy the memories.

I do have a "Fan Fair" plate on front of DW's car and a "Flagler Beach" plate on front of TV. That is allowed.

We do not put any stickers on the coach, but we do have a "Tidewater Fourwheelers" sticker on the bumper (it is our jeep club). I did finally find the one sticker I was looking for that says "Back Off or I'll Flush!", but I do not know if it will actuatly make it to the camper. The one I fond is 8 by 11!!!! Sorta Big!

Stickers are kind of cool, but I don't think I'd want them on the siding. I like the bumper idea, but you're going to cover that pretty quickly with all the things you're seeing! You'll have to expand to the frame, tongue and battery boxes.

No Stickers on the TT. I have a FORD with American flag decal and Steeler logo on the rear window of the TV, but no stickers on the TT.

I do refrigerator magnets. I had them all over the oven door of our '98 Sunline but when we let the kids have it the magnets went with it. I'm starting over on the new one. I really hated to give up the Sitting Bull magnet from The Little Big Horn but my Grandsons now have it so that's OK.

Cindy,

No stickers on my rig. I'm just too fussy. As for the DH to drive you crazy? It's our job to do that. It keeps your brain juices flowing trying to figure out what we are up to next.

Another No on the stickers on “The Camper”. I proudly have an American Flag on a suction cup in the window of the Suburban, but that is it.

I’m too much a fuss pot for stickers on “The Camper” that are not Sunline Logo.

But then again DW has done the “What are you doing now!” a few times on me too over the years.

Sort of like last night. Was out washing “The Camper” The outside walls that is. Did the roof a day ago and now to the walls.

She comes out and says, “What are you doing now?”
I said “Washing the camper.”
DW says, "You just did that last night!."
I said "But that was just the roof."

We are going camping for the July 4th week and I like her all cleaned up.

DW says, “Isn’t it going to just get dirty anyway driving to NY...."

Oh well, Driving one crazy is truly a point of view.

We always start out with a clean unit when leaving for a trip too. It may get dirty, but it's better than having old dirt on there too.

Thanks to all of you that have answered my question. I hope my DH takes this to heart and we don't get any more Elvis or Homer Simpson Stickers to muck up the Sunline. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who can find a better spot for them then on the Sunline. Looking forward to meeting all of you at the meet and greet!!

Cindy

Were going to try our darndest. Pat made a good point that since we have been on the road, everyone on this forum has been so helpful and truley very nice peolple. We are going to try and put off our other obligations so that we can attend and meet everyone.

HOMER SIMPSON? Now that is just wrong! HOmer Simpson on a Sunline? Sunline owners are discriminating 'upscale' sort of camper-folks. Homer Simpson just does not fit our image.

PS- If you come to the Meet and greet, we can arrange a secret midnight "Sticker Scraping" brigade!
