Mandatory evacuation for us in Cape May County, NJ. Taking our Sunline and heading west to Lancaster PA for the weekend, hope that's far enough out of harms way.:( Sue & Bob

It's going to be pretty nasty there too...don't park under any trees.

To all of our members who may be in the path of destruction, please head to high, dry land and stay safe!

God speed!

Camper is next to my house, fridge is on and cold, LP tanks full. When the power goes out I expect I may be "camping" in my yard.

Going to top off propane tanks, get spare gasoline, and check out generator this afternoon, Hotel Sunny will be ready if we lose power for an extended period.

Forecast for our area is for 30 mph sustained winds, 50 mph gusts, lots of rain. Eastern Shore is a different story, 120 miles east, Ocean City is expecting a direct hit. Mandatory evacs @ midnight tonight.

Stay Safe,

Mack

Stay safe everyone. I think we are ok, just get the rain and some wind. I sure do remember my years of living in South Jersey and the storms. Do we pull the boat or leave it in the water. Do we board up windows this time ??? Glad I moved. SueBobby, many years ago my X managed the Western Termite & Pest Control Co. there in Cape May.

Anyone staying anywhere near the danger area, please be careful! Things can be replaced... YOU cannot!

I took our Sunny to get the work done on it, that is in exchange for the little 17-1/2.. The guy doing the work has a building, that he does the work in. It's 40 by 80 and our Sunny is inside and out of any possible bad weather coming our way...

NYS DEC was closing the trails and back country yesterday. Today, they informed the campers in all the DEC campgrounds in the Adirondacks and the Catskills that they have to be out by noon on Saturday.

We saw a steady stream of boats and campers southbound on NY 30 this evening on our way home from Albany. Tomorrow will be a mad house on that road.

The generator is all set and we have plenty of gas for it on hand. I gassed up the Jeep and Gail got some cash out of the ATM just in case. We're well stocked for food here already and there's plenty of bottled water, too.

Everybody stay safe!

Hopefully Irene will not be such a bad gal by teh time she reaches farther north. Maybe it will just be a Nor'East'r soon.

Most of Florida escaped anything from Irene. We did get some rain but this is the rainy season and nothing out of the ordinary.

0830 and the rain bands are hitting Richmond already and the freakin' storm's center is at Moorehead City, N.C. Geez, this thing is bigger'n Europe!

The Taj is in a storage lot. I squeezed her in between two Class As for protection. They're taller and longer, heh, heh. Our garage is on a dead end alley so we're moving vehicles to the empty Blockbuster parking lot up the main drag. Don't want to be trapped by fallen trees.

Lessee, got whiskey, beer, champagne, oysters (to be shucked), ... yup, we're ready.

Stay Safe everyone. Please post as soon as you can once the storm passes to let us all know you are ok.

We are sitting in the TT at the Harper's Ferry, WV, KOA, due to a mandatory evacuation of our area in MD, Kent Island just across the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis. It's rainy and overcast here but not too bad. I hope we can return home tomorrow but that depends on any flooding where we live.

Having the TT has made the need to evacuate easier but it feels strange to abandon our house and cars and boat. We took all the precautions we could but can only hope we will have house left.

Gary,

Hopefully we can return home tomorrow if roads to our house are open. As you can guess, we were in a panic with the evacuation order and were pleased to find a spot here at the KOA since everything was so last minute.

When we were driving on 340 I thought of you and Kitty and hoped you were doing fine.

Yep... We're fine!

We had a bit of rain a little while ago, but it's actually more calm now. The invitation is still open, if you cannot go home tomorrow. We have free water and electric and NO site charges!

Many, many thanks for the offer! Much appreciated!!

We're having some rain showers and wind here so let's hope Irene does not pay us a visit here. LOL

The T1700 is in the garage how knows we maybe cooking in it tonight. We have not seen the storm yet should be here around 2PM here in the mnts of western Maine the rains ahead of the storm are all ready a bit over 2" and it's only 9AM. I don't think (well I hope) flooding will be a problem for us were at 560' and 120' above the river.
