internet

We use Verizon Wireless Broadband. They have two plans one is $39 a month, the other $59 a month. They are a little expensive but available virtually every where we travel. We also use it at home.

One advantage of things you an use on the road and at home is you're not paying for somthing different at home while you're on the road.

We spent a week wayout in the Badlands, down a dirt road on an indian reservation. There was no cell phone signal but there was Verizon Wireless broadband. We have now bought a cellphone that uses the same signal as the Broadband.

If you have a smartphone, like the Blackberry, you can tether (connect) your cellphoine to your computer for an internet signal as well.

Hope this helps a little,

Norm

Hi, we have RCN package for home use but were under the impression if we contracted verizon it would be on a yearly basis, and we only need it for the two months we will be in Florida.

We travel a lot more than you, 7 months on average so it's easy to justify the Verizon. It is true that you have to do a year or two with Verizon. When we started RVing we eeiminated our home cable service and switched to Verizon for Internet and Dish for TV. That way we always have a fast Internet. When we're away people still get Dish at our house when the house is used and we get Dish wherever we are on the road.

The price difference between internet cable and internet TV and Verizon and Dish is not much and provides us with full service whereever.

FOr only two months of use you are probably better off staying the way you are.

Many campgrounds do have wireless Internet without charge, some have cable TV and cable Internet, generally pretty reasonable. Wireless in campgrounds seems to be more common as one heads west.

By the way where do you stay in Florida?

Safe travels,

Norm
