EDIT: 10-30-2010 The procedure listed below is still valid for posting a pic on SOC. However with the updates in photo servers and the new V-bulletin software it is now easier to post a pic. See this update on page 4 of this post for updated instructions. http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f63/how-to-post-a-picture-on-sunlineclub-7650-4.html#post91613

Just passing along something I finally figured out how to do with our great forum we have here. How to post a pic in a post.

This feature has been on the site for quite a long time, just I have not ever seen anyone use it yet. And I could not figure it out either until last night when I figured it out by accident.

So to pass this along, here is what I found. If Sarah finds anything wrong with what I am saying here, please, help set up straight.

To post a pic:

1. First you have to have your picture on an internet web site that allows public viewing. I cannot find size rules here, but if this is anything like RV.net (like a lot of us members are,) keep your pics size to 640 x 480 and stay under 100 meg byte.

2. In your pic posting web site, view your pic. Then right click on it to get the “properties” address of that pic. You will get a pop up window that looks like this.
img_58056_0_e64aa3dbaf6efa750142704682cc48d6.jpg

Click the "properties" button and view the address path to that picture on the web. Swipe the entire address but stop at the end of the .jpeg extension. Like this. Copy this address into your scrap buffer. (Ctrl C)

Some pic hosting sites have a Img Code address already spelled out for you, just copy that address into your scrap buffer. It will save you a few clicks over using the older properties pop up method.

Now your ready to post into Sunline Club.

1. Place your cursor where you want the pic to start.

2. Click the "Img" button once.
img_58056_2_4570a788860b8d87ee1eb6c5158157f1.jpg

This starts the command to load a pic. You can also type in "" Be aware that the img command goes to the last text in your note. Just cut and paste it where you want the pic to start. Now that I figured this out, I just type the code to stop the jumping around of the img command.

3. Then immediately after the first img code, paste (Ctrl V) in your pic web address from your pic hosting site. It looks like below.

4. Then after the web address press the Img key again to put in the img end command. Or type "" this ends the pic posting command. It should look like this.
img_58056_3_033753059e0b5a95e577645caa3ade70.jpg

And then you can preview the pic and post to see if it is correct. When all done, the pic should post like this.

Hope this helps.

Happy camping in your Sunline :D

Poppy and Nana,

Your post the other day inspired me that others may not have stumbled on this yet, so thought I would do a good turn.

H'mm Poppy and Nana, well in our case it is Grandpa and Nana... :D

Also see you are from Upstate NY. Cindy and I use to be as well before moving to central Ohio. Use it live in a McIntosh apple country out side of a little town called Hudson on the Hudson river across from Catskill in the land of Rip Van Winkle. About 45 miles south of Albany.

Happy camping.

Photo Test

Iwould like to add two more details to your posting:
1.) Make sure that you enable BBCode under your user profile.
2.) If you post on Flickr (a free photo post site); select your photo then click on Show all sizes. Pick a size i.e small, medium, etc. your selected size will appear as well as a box asking you to grab the photo's URL. Just cut & paste this URL and your in business.

By the way; here's our new Sunny coming home from Stoltzfus RV...picked it up the Sat. after Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the added info. Didn't know that on the BBCode. And Yes, Flicker can give you monster size pics that will not do well here I'm sure. My son in law has that site.

On the camper 8) New campers are allways good times. Nice looking rig. And your back ground, WOW I said that sure likes like NY, and then I looked at your sig. Yup, Sure is.

John our two daughters (and husbands + 3 grandsons 14 y/o + 2 x 3y/o not twins) live in Kerhonkson - not too far from Hudson, just further west. Unfortunately we are a little further north than that - say about 4 hours further north! We are in the Adirondacks in a small, tiny town (pop 2500 - yes I said - twenty-five hundred) called Old Forge...in the summer we EXPLODE with visitors and if winter ever gets here - we will have the same happen with snowmobilers!

Thanks for positing the info on the picture posting.....I'm sure many people will appreciate it! :D

Thanks for the instructions John.
I envision a day when we will look back and recall how many hoops we had to jump through to do things on our computers like post a picture. Sort of like reminiscing about the old days when cars had manual chokes. (actually before my time :) )Now, we have cars that park themselves!
BTW, John, can you tell me how to get a picture posted to the "photos" page of this website?
Thanks,
Rich

Here is a cut and paste on how this is suppose to work off the photos page.

Send us your Sunline photos. All submissions are welcome. Please include the year and model of your Sunline, plus the location the photo was taken, if applicable.

To submit a photo, email info(at)sunlineclub.com with the .jpg or .gif file and description.

However I did a while back email in some of mine but do not know if they became lost or not. SunlineClub is growing, which is GREAT!! and do not know if the moderator is overloaded with them. They seem to come up in groups. There was also a post a while back that Sarah asked if possible that they come in a certain size. I can’t locate that post right now.

Hope this helps

John

Thanks to everyone for their submissions! And FYI for future submissions, if you are "graphic" savvy, I prefer pics 200 X 150 pixels.

Sarah

Here is the size Sarah would like !

05/01/2007 - Made sticky post to keep up front and forward for easy access for everyone.

Hutch - moderator.

Almost there...

The file needs to end in a .jpg and wipe out the rest. When you cut and past in from photobucket, pic the img option. That ends the file with the file extension and leaves the rest out.

Nice looking rig :D

Need more help, ask away

Ok you’re gaining now the pic looks OK in the normal post. But your sig is not right.

For it to show up in your sig, you are missing the ending command of "[/img]" after the .jpg

It could be you reached the max characters. If so just shorten the picture file name to 1 or 2 character and repost.

Galaxiedriver

Looking good now. :D Both the sig pic and the normal post pic is working. Good job.

Thanks John,

I think I've got it.

I love that whole rig. I've been a Ford guy all my life and maybe should have gone up a size when I got this TV. It performs great but I'll give it a real test next June in the Montana Rockies.

Copy the URL listed in the bottom of the yellow box to the right of your picture and put it between the instead of the string from the explorer page.
