How to convert table into bed in a T2553

This may seem a rather simple question, but we have not been able to figure out how to break the kitchen table down into a bed. The logical answer would be to pull up on the center pole, but it doesn't seem to budge. We were considering taking the screws out to break it down. Does anyone know the solution we seem to be overlooking? Thanks!

It is really a quite simple process. You basically have it right. Keep pulling on the pole- it is probably just stuck in there and requires some force to break it loose. There is no need to remove any screws. In fact, the breakdown process requires no tools at all. If it still won't break loose with pulling up on it, try hitting it on the under side repeatedly, either with your fist or a rubber hammer.

Step 1: Pick up on the table on the isle side. It should pop out of the pole in the floor.

Step 2: Remove the table support pole from the floor or table, depending on which end it stays in.

Step 3: Set the table top down onto the rails at the front edges of each dinette booth. The table should have a metal bar that acts as a hinge. This doesn't require any adjustment to make it fold.

Step 4: Remove both back cushions for the dinette benches and place them over the table top.

Step 5: Make bed.

Thanks we'll try again. I guess we were just not forceful enough to make the pole come out of the table. May-be the rubber hammer will do the trick! Or I'll try now in the cold weather. We were trying in Virginia when it was 100 degrees this summer.

They get pretty well "stuck" just from leaning on the table top so don't be afraid to give it a jolt...I usually find it is the bottom of the leg that gets jammed in tight--once that is out you can jimmy the top back and forth and it will come right out. There is no 'cure' for this however!!!

In case you have not noticed, you can pull the seat back closest to the door up to take it off. This is good for those really tall people sleeping on that bed.

If you are watching TV (television that is...) you can pull that back up and re-install it on the front side of that same seat, giving you a seat that faces the television stand.

That is what is referred to as a switch-back seat, I believe.

Hey thanks! I hadn't thought about removing the seat back for taller people. We had a friend stay with us and sleep on the couch kind of at an angle. Next time we'll man handle the table apart and leave the seat back off!

Yah, the switch seat is such a simple and great idea it's a wonder it hasn't caught on in other campers. Since there are only 2 of us we keep it in the reversed position most of the time
