I have a 2004 Sunline 2499 and don't ever remember an anode rod in it. I know where the drain plug is as I have removed that many times but I don't ever remember an Anode rod. I have been watching a video about how often they should be changed and I am line WHAT . Have I been missing it?

Hi Ted,

If you still have the Atwood/Dometic water heater in your 2004 T2499, there is no Anode rod. The tank is made of aluminum, and as such, the brand/style tank does not use an anode. You are not missing anything; there is nothing to find.

If someone changed the heater to a Suburban brand water heater, that style tank is steel with a coating on the inside, and it does use an Anode rod in the drain plug hole.

Hope this helps,

John

Thank you so much John for the reply. I never saw anything but the normal drain plug. My sister now has my Sunline as she can use it from time to time for extra bedroom space. She lives 5 hour drive away on the Bruce Peninsula. I set it up to stay as they have no way currently to move it. I am the second of ten children and we are all over Canada and when family or friends come to Ontario they go to her house. Take care John and I really loved our Sunline but I just don't need that much room or weight anymore.
