Hooking grill to low-pressure propane connection

I have read on the forum that many people like the Weber BBQ, including Baby Q grills for camping. Has anyone ever bypassed the grill regulator and hooked the grill to your low-pressure connection where RVQ grills normally connect (after the tank regulator)?

I haven't done it personally, but I know a couple of people who have removed the Q's regulator and adapted a hose to run to the LP outlet on the trailer. Works great!
