Homemade Travel Trailer Project

WOW!! This is my first post here, but I have read this whole thread a number of times..Well, looked at the pics alot anyway :)

So much planning went into this, superb! you should all be proud..

Now what are the chances of selling a project hungry Aussie a copy of the plans??

I have tried to design my own, but don't have the head, or computer skills for it, but I 'DO' have the hands capable of building it.

There is preciosu little available when it comes to self build travel trailers, or 'Caravan's' as we call them over here.

Can you help a brother out??

Love your work fellas!

Thanks.

Thanks everybody for all the kind words. I haven't had much forum time since we finished up that trailer, been going crazy with lots of other projects.

I "delivered" the trailer to him way back on Easter Sunday. 120 mile one way trip, no issues at all. Since then we swapped out the axle to a full 3500# unit to give him more capacity, and swapped to 15" wheels & tires at the same time. He got to take it out 3 or 4 times this year and seemed to really enjoy it, so that's good. Unfortunately, we were never able to sync up the schedules so I've yet to actually camp next to it! Maybe next year...

Meanwhile, it sure has been nice to have it completed so we could get out in the Sunline and do some camping!

I've had a few people email and ask for plans, etc. I really don't have any to give. Most of the drawings and such that were used to build this thing are right here in this thread.

Here's one last picture, taken a couple of days before "delivery." We had just given it a quick bath and were getting ready to tweak the hitch for it's first test drive. First stop that day was the local RV dealer who had helped us with ordering some parts. We were a bit hit, the owner liked it so much he rounded up everybody (including a few customers) and gave them all a tour!

Thanks again for all the comments, support, and encoragement!

Frank,

Thank-you very much for documenting the build. It was a great read. Although I don't own a Sunline trailer, it is posts like yours that make this website my go-to place for all things trailering.

THAT is so awesome! What a great job!

And I can't figure out my new bullet latch for the screen door! LOL!!

 You should go into the business!

Your camper project was amazing....I am in awe. I'm crabbing around because I have to fill a few nail holes, rewax the floor, and put a new wallpaper border up lol

That was unbelievable! Thank you for sharing the process.

Amazing

I just joined the site. I'm actively seeking a 2363. I found this post and thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Thank you for the step by step and great pictures.
