I am a new member that has just purchased a used '85 T-1550. I feel I have gotten a very good deal on this thing after further research. I paid $600 for it & will be bringing it home tomorrow. If anyone has any tips on what I should check out before my first voyage please let me know. Cosmetically it is in great shape and has a new A/C. My family & I are planning a Coastal NC tour the first week in Nov. & I want to make sure this thing is gonna make it. Also, I will be towing it with a Honda CR-V which has a 1500 lb towing capacity. I know the 1550 is a little heavier than that @ 1830lb but I think with my 20 years experience as a truck driver I believe it will be OK.

I will be posting some pics of my travels on my webby. I should get some up this coming weekend while I am cleaning up the 1550.

I am exited about this site and meeting some new people along the way.

Hi RoadBlok!

Let me be the 1st to welcome you to our forum!

I can't tell you much about your TT, other than "Happy Camping"!

This is a neat forum, if you have any questions, ask away....somebody will be sure to answer!

Welcome to the club and congrats on the new "to you" Sunline.

I'm not familiar with your specific trailer. But some general recommendations & suggestions are: before you leave on your trip, try out all appliances, water systems, A/C, furnace, etc. Check to make sure all water connections are tight. Make sure there’s water in the HW Tank before trying the water heater. Make sure they work and you’re comfortable with operating them. Check all seals on the roof, around windows, and doors. Fix / fill-in if needed.

Happy and safe camping.

Hutch pretty much nailed it, but if you don't mind, post some pics of it once you get it home. From the pics, I could point out to you anything that would raise a red flag. Make sure to include all exterior sides (roof would be nice) and detailed interior shots, including the ceiling.

I'm not familiar with your CR-V, but if it didn't come with a transmission cooler I'd install one before pulling a trailer.
