Well , it's almost the new year.

I think Gary has Sunny & the truck pretty much ready to go tomorrow. We will head down to Shenandoah River State Park. Meet up with Wright & Penny and whom ever else might be there. I didn't have much to pack because we still had clothing, and food out there.

Do you know how difficult it is planning meals when nothing really tastes "good", and anything that does taste right & good is pretty much off limits for me. Good thing Gary is not a real picky eater because dinner choices have changed a lot since I got sick.

This will be our first time ever camping over the New Years holiday. Weather looks like it shouldn't be too bad during the day. I have plenty of warm clothes packed and 2 different pairs of gloves since I have a hard time dealing with the cold. And I'm sure there will be a good fire going on someones' site.

In all my years of camping, which started in 1996, Thanksgiving was always the latest the I ever ventured out with the Sunny. Tomorrow morning the Christmas tree will have it's LED lights turned off until next year.

Hopefully I will remember my camera that I have set out to take with us.

Happy News Year,

Kitty

Have a great trip Kitty & Gary!!

We used to never camp past early October and and for the first three years or so, never camped before mid-June. Then we went over Memorial day for a few years, and then started going mid-October. Haven't done any winter camping yet though in it.

We went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Emerald Isle as I remember, in January with freezing temps. It was about 1970 with daytime highs of high thirties and we were the only campers in the campground in our 18 foot Shasta so we setup where we could get a good ocean view. To keep ourselves warm while surf fishing we put on layers of clothes and then wore clear rain suits on top to break the cutting wind. Standing on the beach with strong winds was almost comfortable until we started sweating inside those hothouses we wore. Then the warm and fuzzies became the damp and muggies so we gave up the fishing since we weren't catching, only fishing, and went back to the TT and turned up the heat. Decided not to do that again. ;)

Those were the days, LOL!

Happy New Year tomorrow everyone! Have a great trip to those of you who are heading out. It is going to be nice down at Shenandoah River!

Kitty,
I don't know if that was a typo or a Freudian slip in your post. Considering your troubles in 2011, I'm sending wishes that 2012 is a "Happy News Year" for you!

To those camping this weekend, enjoy!

To everyone -
have a safe and Happy New Year!

HI kitty and Gary, glad to hear you're heading back to SRSP! I think you'll find good weather again. We're winterized and have never reversed it (or operated out of water jugs for that matter) so all we do is say "so when are we going camping?"
Happy New Year and good healing,
Rich and Barbara
