Hello to all!

Recently, and unexpectedly acquired a 2004 Solaris T 267 SR. (Wife's relatives upgraded to an RV and needed it gone. They knew we had a truck that could pull it).

I got a rudimentary lesson on weight distribution from the previous owner, but didn't drive it at speed to test or make adjustments. I've trailered small boats but this is all new to me.

Thanks in advance for any answers to newbie question from y'all. I'll use the search feature, but any newbie tips or directions to helpful threads are sure appreciated!

Cheers,
-Tim

Hi Tim,

Welcome to Sunline Owners Club! Congrats on your new coach. :D

Tips for a person new to campers,

Here is one section of the our forum that has Answers to Frequent Questions, which can be of help. See the 2 sticky's on the top of FAQ forum. There is all kinds of good stuff in there.
http://www.sunlineclub.com/forums/f111/

In the "How Too" Sticky, it has some posts on weight distributing hitches, as well as threads in our towing forum.

Something very important for those new to campers is roof maintenance and how to work on the roof. Note: Odds are high your roof is not a walk on roof and you or someone else doing the work must take precautions to not fall through it. Not hard to do once you know about it. See No. 12 in the "How too" sticky that talks about

12. Roof sealant inspection and repair(Check seam and roof condition every year, along with washing).

Since yours is a 2004 unit, the roof sealant for sure needs to be checked, every inch of it and "now" is the time to repair it for even the finest hairline cracks. Water damage is the enemy of all campers and checking a good 3 to 4 times a year and keeping ahead of the sealants is a must. Going into winter and coming out of winter in the spring are 2 must check times. Water gets in a fine crack, freezes, splits and after a few cycles of this, bame... there is a leak to the inside just sitting there waiting to be found a year or more later and then the damage is done. Being pro active is key to being in control of water damage.

Also if you did not know, on the top of the forum are tabs, Scroll your mouse over the area called “Files”, click it and it opens up a bunch of really great info on Sunlines you can down load.

If you are looking for info on your Sunline, this is the place.

Enjoy your new camper and we look forward to “seeing” and hearing about your Sunline adventures.

Note: The seeing part, we like Pic’s! anything to do with camping or your camper.

Happy camping

John

I currently live in Orange County NY, about 70 miles north of NYC.

The M&G sounds perfect for a first trip with the camper, pending an off-again-on-again business trip to Vancouver staying off-again.

Cheers!
