Going to an RV show?

Regarding the Pittsburgh RV Show, we were able to get to it on the FIRST day, and hour, of the show opening.

The crowds were small, which I enjoyed. We made it through in record time--about three hours. Each year the show has a different purpose for me.

Last year at the show, I never imagined that three months later, I would buy a used (dream) Sunline. (The year after you buy something, the show takes on a different meaning, as you are only looking at different things.)

After the show, there was a little bit of letdown for me, as "the next" trailer maybe a Class C, which were under represented at the show. I was also just a little disappointed as nothing JUMPED out at me --as in I would love to have that!

(Although I may have just been depressed because this was my last full day at home in the US, before starting again for three months away from home, traveling for work across Europe. ).

Features and new things that I noticed, and liked, where:

-the new V-front end trailers (not a square box) with a cool layouts within the V.

-the use of U-shaped dinettes built on the long side of the trailer (instead of the front). Unlike "regular" dinettes, these things can sleep adults (length and width appropriate).

-One really cool Class C with a "party/tailgate design". A large bar (with with floor-mounted stools). And a HUGE curved couch (and curved table) that could hold at least six people sitting.

Western NY RV Show

Well; the DW and I went to the Western NY RV show in Hamburg NY (Suburban Buffalo). Looking at what was offered in travel trailers...nothing even came close to the fit & finish of our 2007 T1950. Boy are we glad we jumped on a unit after the factory announced they were closing. 8)

We also went to the Pittsburgh RV show. All I can say is thank goodness we have a Sunline! Nothing even came close to the quality of ours. We hope to hang onto ours as long as possible ! It seems the RV companies are trying to make the trailers even more lightweight and in return are really compromising quality and safety. It was a disappointing show.

Yeah, that was pretty ugly, huh?

I wish that our starting right guard was able to play...our right side was getting killed all night....not to mention our secondary.

You can put money on one thing, there will be some players on the unemployment line really, really soon.

Barbara and I are goung to the Richmond Virgina show on Saturday. Not sure what we are going to look at but some of he camp grounds have some good displays.

Kelly and I, along with brother Ghettomedic (and his wife? maybe?)

will be attending the New England show in Foxborough on Sunday.

Is it at Gillette? Do you know what time? My son's 8th birthday party is in the morning, but I'd like to head over there in the afternoon.

Nevermind, I found the info on the stadium website. Maybe I can get over there tonight and still get home in time for the Bud Shootout at Daytona tonight.

We considered going to the show at Gillette, but we're gonna go up to CW in NH to pick up some Dometic parts that we ordered instead. We may pick up an electric tongue jack on sale as well.....
