I have a question about my furnace I have a 1995 Solaris t1700 model and I recently had a house fire and I stayed in it in the winter one night and the clicking noise started and I wasn't sure what it was and I reached out to some people in here and they said it should be the furnace to make sure my tank was on but I'm not really sure how to do all that to fight the book I had I had all the manuals and everything and they burnt up in the fire so I no longer have to operation guys and everything if anyone has any kind of documents returning to the 1995 t1700 they'd be helpful but if someone could walk me through how to light the furnace pilot for the heat I had the trailer plug into my power inverter that was in my van and I bumped some I believe it was the thermostat and after that there was a cold air blowing from the one panel on the bottom of the floor and just like a tick tick tick tick tick tick tick noise coming from that area

Hello ABianco, I am not "anti-gas" and my hot water heater and my stove / oven, in my Sunline T-2075 trailer, are still propane gas. However, I did take my gas furnace OUT of my camper due to an annoying small, gas leak that was causing my L/P alarm to go off. Also I live and camp in Florida (mostly) and don't really need a gas furnace. I made a wonderful cabinet / storage space where the old furnace was located. I simply capped-off the gas line leading to the furnace and insulated and sealed-off the exterior wall where the heater exhaust was. The furnace takes-up a lot of valuable room in the lower part of the camper.
In your case, it does seem like your L/P tank may be turned off as your furnace is attempting to ignite (hence the "tick-tick-tick" sound) but it could also be the furnace's gas valve or blocked pilot tube ? My gas leak was caused by a "sticking" gas valve on the furnace which wasn't closing fully.
I found that a simple plug-in, floor standing, small electric heater that is thermostat controlled, is more than enough heat source for my entire camper. This type of electric heater is very safe and even shuts off should it get knocked over. They make them that even oscillate if you like that feature. They are very affordable. Mine heats-up my entire camper very quickly and my camper is a little larger than your model.
I love cooking with gas and I like how fast my water heater gets the water hot, so I'll never get rid of them. My water heater turns off after it reaches the high temp limit but I always turn it off manually after I am finished with the hot water.
Anyway, you should just consider taking the furnace out and using a small electric heater... One less thing to worry about. Just a thought.

Hi, so sorry to hear about your house fire.

We have several manuals on the forum in PDF format, allowing you to recreate a manual for your camper. At the top of the forum is the word "Resources". Click the word, and it will take you to the resource area. Scan the "Categories" of topics and explore each one to find a wealth of information.

Now, regarding your furnace, we can help, but we don't know which model you have. As Sunline used a few models, the way they were controlled differed.

If you remove the brown grate on the front, there will be a large sticker with the model number and serial numbers on it.

Take clear pictures of these areas and post them.

1. The large label with the model number and serial number. Also, take extra pics of the label so we can see the entire label.

2. A picture of the thermostat you have.

3. A few pics of the furnace gas valve and whatever you can see with the brown grate off. We can also determine which gas valve, igniter, and gas burner you have.

If there is no owner's manual for your model in our resources area, I may be able to find one for you and add it to our resource area for others as well.

I hope this helps.

John
