Fourth doctor's office, nothing new...

So happy to hear that it went well.....when you are feeling better please let us know the results!

We made it home this evening, without having to call-in reinforcements... My knee is extremely sore and it's a huge pain, for me to walk.. (Pun intended..)

I never realized such a small surgery could leave one in a lot of pain... The doc originally told me that the surgery would be in and out, in less than 30 minutes. The reality was, that I was out for over an hour. He was looking, to see how badly I had damaged my ligaments and he wasn't disappointed.

I have a follow-up appointment on 02/17 and we'll discuss my future/options then...

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!! Here's what my knee looked like yesterday, BEFORE it swelled up really bad...

Glad ya made it home ok.

Luv the artwork!!!!

Recognize the stitched up holes, but are the dark purple spots punctures or just ink?

I recently had a meniscus repair and the doc said I would walk out of the hospital I did but it was not fun. They run water through the holes so they can see what they are doing.

Recuperation

Quite a work of art on your knee! Those little holes are deceiving, aren't they? It's amazing what a surgeon can do inside from such a little opening in the skin. Now is your chance to sit back and enjoy some down time (as long as you can control the pain). Hope the pain subsides and a swift recovery will follow.

Yep... Just ink.. Reference marks, I think..

STAY OFF IT..... that is what is making it swell.

I am trying.. We had some pipes freeze at home, while we were down in Baltimore. Those need to be repaired today. We also took a cat, that belonged to Angie's daughter. Trying to be nice and not make it have to go to the pound. He peed all over the bed, floor, clothes and just about everything else in the bedroom. We had to stay in the camper, again last night. I have to go and get some of the enzyme stuff to clean it up today. So much for staying off the knee...

He prescribed me some narcotic type pain killers, as well as ibuprofen 800mg. I don't like taking anything that makes me drowsy, or takes too much pain away. Without the pain, I always end up doing way too much and making things worse. The pain lets me know when I've done enough and it's time for rest.

You might want to try some Feliway to help calm the cat down. It's peeing because it's either stressed or has medical problems. I'm guessing it's feeling like it has to make your rv its own territory and is feeling anxious. The Feliway spray diffuser works extremely well (there is another name for Feliway on a link in a recent thread about taking a cat camping). Hope it works for you.

Yes the surgeon draws little pictures and stuff to make sure he is doing the right knee on the right person for the right problem.
Yeap, Mainah....
Been there, done that, got three tee-shirts, seen the artwork before, just not the connect the dot puzzle!!!

Between playing catcher up through high school, and thirty years crawling around burning buildings, my knees have seen better days.

Sorry everyone, latest update is that I have one more PT appointment tomorrow and then a functional capacity evaluation later in May. The results of the FCE will determine my chances of going back to work for the railroad. As far as the knee itself, it still hurts. I'm learning to live with it. I am also stuck wearing this brace, for the foreseeable future...
