First Trip in 09

We carry an Eden Pure Quartz Infared heater in the coach. One of the floor models, it works great. I figure that I pay my yearly membership dues and paid for the membership so I'm going to save a little money by using some of their electricity instead of my propane.

We just decided that we are having too good a time to leave now. After our first weekend of camping in 2009 we decided to stay the rest of the week and leave next Sunday. We are close enough to work to make the commute from the CG, which is really nice. About 35 min for DW, and a whopping 15 for me. Does anyone else here do this? More than a few people we know here at the "Farm" do the same thing, just wondering if anyone else does. Well Happy Camping.

Got home about 2 hours ago from Raphine, VA. I was there over the weekend for a gun shoot. Weather was great for a gun shoot. Actually, I got a bit of sunburn yesterday.

Traffic on I-81 was a bit heavy this afternoon, but no problems thankfully.

I stayed in a no frills campground "Mallard Duck", had water, electric and dump station. New owners are working on making the place better. My site had me backed up right to the stream.

I have decided that I need to re-adjust my hitch as Sunny is a tad nose down. Tows great, but I don't like how it looks. Level should be better.

Got back yesterday from our first trip of the season, took 3 days at Myles Standish State Forest. Feels good to be out again.

Re: Electric Heaters amd raw sewerage

We only use our gas heater when we're dry camping. We usually don't run our electric heater when sleeping, if we do it's set to a low temperature typically in the 40's or so.

We do use an electric blanket, we use a twin size in our little Sunline and it does the job easily down to the 20's. First one up turns the heat on.

If you instantly want to take the chill off in the morning turn on your stove's burners. It will take the chill off in a couple of minutes.

Hi Norm, I would freeze to death at 40F. I set the electric heater at 74 and was comfy all night. We ran into a problem though.... raw sewerage from the toilet tank leaking into the floor behind the toilet. The odor was coming out the heater vent (we didn't use propane heat) and the two draws above the vent. It was running out from somewhere under the floor and around the waste pipes. I hope this week we can find where the sewerage is coming from and fix the leak. I don't know how we're going to get rid of the odor. I poured several gallons of hot soapy water with bleach added to clean the tank and hopefully kill some of the smell. That also leaked out. I only hope the sewerage has not soaked into the flooring under the fridge and around the commode, but fear that it has. :?

Exactly! We pay for the electricity at the CGs so we may as well use it. I have a small $15 heater from Wal*Mart that sits on the stove stop. It heats the little SunLine in no time. Like Norm says I can use the burners on the stove, but that takes propane. The little electric heater is more economical. Being retired now we have to save anywhere we can.
