We are headed towards Fort Wilderness next Sunday.

This will be a week long stay so we should get a good shakedown on the new 2363.

I am not sure what to do with the bikes yet.The previous trailer had a receiver hitch for a bike rack that worked pretty well. I am thinking about a roof top rack for my 4Runner or a rack that will work with the rear hatchback. Anyone have suggestions?

Hopefully I will be able to get my new Equalizer hitch installed by then. So far finding stuff for this hitch has not been alot of fun. I ended up driving to multiple different stores before I found the correct ball. I may end up having to do a rush order to purchase the ridiculously priced socket as I cannot find anyone in town who has one that will work.

We actually looked at 2499 and chose the 2363. Initially the floor plan looked good on the 2499 but after multiple trips back and forth the 2363 seemed to fit us better. Most of the spots I have been to did not have any view out the rear and the wife prefers the kitchen in the 2363. A few hundred pounds less was a bonus also.

That's one of my dream trips -- to go to Disney World and stay at Fort Wilderness! Was it hard to get reservations and how long in advance did you have to make them?

Hope you have a great time.

Hey Mike,

I would go with a roof rake over the rear hatchback mount. My concern with the rear hatchback mount would be if there was enough clearance between bikes and trailer for turns.

A third option would be to put the bikes in the trailer.

Hi Patricia

Reservations for Ft Wilderness depends on the time of year you want to visit. We made reservations for next month about a month or so ago.

Now if you want to stay there for a major holiday, you better make reservations way in advance. Alot of people like staying over at XMAS time and you better reserve it early.

For some reason I was not thinking about clearance for the bikes when I am in a turn. Thanks. Definitely a roof rack of some type. I will have to watch that overhead clearance though. :)

We have a bike rack that hangs on the back of the TrailBlazer. It was something like $30 at WalMart. We haven't had any trouble with clearance yet, but ours only holds 2 bikes, and we haven't done any hairpin turns with it on.

WOW, I wish I were going. Have stayed at FW 3 times, I love it. "IF" the park is extremely crowed, bus transportation may be a tad slow. What mom and I discovered, was that if we took the Fort Wilderness "shuttle" over to Fort Wilderness Lodge, we were able to catch a bus faster to the parks, than catching one right from the campground. Same way for returning from a park, we often found it faster to go to Wilderness Lodge, then the campground shuttle. Not really sure why, guess it's just something about the way the "routes" are setup.

Have a wonderful & safe trip.
