We are hooking a hose up to our city water connection. We are on a well, not on city water. My question is there anything I have to do specifically or do I just hook the hose up and run it and leave the hose on?

You are correct, you screw on the white potable water hose to the city water fitting and turn on the water to pressurize the system. You would leave the water turned on for as long as you are at the camper.

A few things to add in case you did not know.

1. Make sure there is a garden hose screen-type washer in the city water connection to prevent any larger debris from coming down the hose. Prior owners sometimes have them fall out and not replace them. You can buy the screen washer at most hardware or big box stores.

2. Not sure how far away the shut-off valve is for the hose. If it's a real long run, I consider adding a local all-brass garden hose shutoff at the camper. This will help for various reasons in case you have to shut down the water quickly.

3. It's a good habit to get into, when you leave the camper for a long walk, a day hike, a trip to the store, or any hour or more, turn off the water supply at the incoming hose. Whether you have an older RV or a brand new one, RV components are not made to be very heavy-duty. A leaking swivel fitting gasket, a toilet flush valve leak, or any water leak can make a huge mess if you are not there when it happens. By turning off the hose supply water (only takes 1 minute), you can leave the hose hooked up; you may only get a small leak that is easy to overcome when you return to the camper. An active leak on an unlimited supply can be 100 gallons by the time you return—water leaks in a camper are the worst. I have helped many friends deal with freshwater leaks and what happens under the camper's floor with wet insulation and floor tile. I learned from them that just shut it off when leaving the camper.

The same goes for using the fresh tank. Turn off the pump when you leave the camper. I had this issue teach me the hard way.

4. Depending on your hose setup, consider using a 90-degree fitting to help take the strain off the hose and city water connection hanging off the camper. This does not have to happen instantly, but it is good for the long. Camco makes them, and I think Valterra too. Here is a link to Walmart offering it for less than $5. Camco 90-Degree Hose Elbow for RVs - Solid Brass Construction, Certified Lead-Free (22505) - Walmart.com

I hope this helps.

In addition to these items is there a valve for the city water connection once it is hooked up to the camper. Inside the camper

There is a check valve that is part of the fitting you screw the hose on. The check valve is in the wall; you cannot see it from the outside when the screen washer is installed. That check valve prevents water from blowing outside that fitting when you use the freshwater tank and the water pump.

There is no on/off valve that you turn in the camper, as it was shipped from Sunline. You screw on the hose and turn on the water and it goes right into the piping system.
