Ceiling speakers and radio in T2461

Hello All,
Recently purchased a 1988 satellite T2461 and I want to install a radio using the pre -wired bundle in the front overhead compartment
I see 2 stickers on the ceiling for speakers one is above the front bench closer to the sink side wall and one is above the bedroom door to the outside. I found the wires up front for the radio and have pulled out 2 loops of speaker wire, an orange wire and a white wire both capped . My question is are there supposed to be 4 speakers [cut the loops and wire for 4 speakers] and how would I locate the other 2 hidden wires if they are there?
The inside is very nice for 30 years old and I do not want to cut holes in the ceiling if there are no wires. If anyone needs paperwork or info for this trailer, the previous owner was very good with paperwork and I believe he has every piece of paperwork from everything ever purchased, installed or fixed including the original break controller that strapped to the break pedal and its all hole punched and in the 3 ring binder owners manual.

I would say if there is no tag don't go cutting! My 1990 T1700 had tags for 4 speakers and yards of wire in the cabinets.

It likely was planned for four speakers. I wonder if you could you could get a stud finder to trip where the wires are? They seem to be confused easily enough, hopefully a wire literally sitting on the other side of the wood would.

If you have a friend in the computer/phone business they will have a toner to locate wires that pretty much is the only way to trace them. If you have 2 tags and two wires that's probably all it's wired for if speakers were added to the chain it would change the impedance of the speakers so they probably did not do that at the factory it's just not good practice.

Thanks. I found a third sticker in the front so that means 4 speakers. I will try the stud finder thing and base my approach off the premise that the layout of the speakers is square.
Can anyone confirm that their speakers are in a square layout in their rig?

The last Sunline I had that was prepped, I sold about 13 years ago. So my memory is a bit fuzzy, but I believe they were square. Most/all of the factory installations have been in a square layout.

Typical Sunline speakers were round and pretty much flush mount, until the last few years.

The closest thing to a square speaker I can think of is a 6X9 oval. Just guessing but I'll bet on a 6 or 8" round. I would also bet it's in a pretty open space to avoid any errors. Be careful there is a roof up there too not real far away!

I think he’s referring to a square layout on the ceiling for the placement of the speakers.

I'm still lost on that one unless the finisher for the speaker was square. I guess I never payed attension to spakers in a Sunline kind of thinking they were round flush mount. Maybe some one will post a picture of a factory install. I didn't use the factory placement when I put a radio in mine I went with a couple of high end book shelf ones, it had factory mounting for 4 but that seemed excessive in a 17 foot camper!

Thanks all and yes the square reference was to the layout of the factory speaker placement and I'm going 12v/4ohm [car radio] so the radio is cheap and usable off the battery.
On another note...... Kicker makes some damn fine square speakers but I don't think the other campers would dig a pair of L7's flexing their muscle in the campground. I'll stick with the 4" rounds in the ceiling.

Haha yeah, and keep in mind that these trailers are pretty poorly insulated. If you crank up the 4" rounds, you could probably hear them a site or two away.

Radio is installed and the speakers are in a square config. I drilled a 1" hole and fished around in the ceiling with a coat hanger for the speaker wires before I cut the full size speaker hole. The bundle of wires up front made the radio install way too easy. Sounds fine and the little 4" speakers do not seem to weigh the ceiling down at all. ... On to the next project

Thanks for the speaker post and for the forum, I need to get my right side speakers (yes fourtotal ) working again. Planning to do more short trip camping in Michigan this year and had forgot I needed to fix those. Any suggestion on 4 day camping location recommendation in Michigan?

Irish Hills, Grand Haven/Holland, or Gaylord/Indian River.

I'd say to try for Traverse City too, but you better make your reservations very soon. The above options should be a little easier to get into.
