Any one heading out camping on Black Friday?

We hope to providing the weather cooperates. We do the big Turkey day on Thursday with the family then come Friday when everyone goes shop’in, we go camp’in. :D If all goes as planed we will go to Lake Loramie State Park in western Ohio. Have not been back there for Turkey day weekend in a while. Camping on this weekend has been a ritual the last few years. TT’s and TV have changed along the way…

Here is 2008. Delaware State Park

2005, well those pics are in the misplaced department….

2004, I know we camped this year as we just picked up the new T2499 on turkey day weekend and we camped twice on the way home from the dealer. However those pics are in the same misplaced department… :x

So anyone heading out?

We're jealous

We won't be camping until Memorial Day weekend in 2010 - man that sound like a long time away!

We were going to tug the Tweety down to Claytor Lake State Park, but the Hilton Garden Inn won out. They opened a brand new hotel in Blacksburg, VA and we have an excessive number of Hilton Honors points available for a free stay. Pepper will have to stay at his brother's apartment :? I'm sure a little turkey will compensate for his disappointment.

Barbara and I will be leaving on Friday for a long haul to.....Brunswick Family Campground, Brunswick MD. Just kidding about the long haul, it's about 25 minutes from our house, in fact we drove over last weekend to scope out our spot (right on the Potomac river). That was Saturday and there were only 2 or 3 campers there so chances are we'll have the place to ourselves this weekend. Five months is a LONG time to wait for camping season to start up again so it's hard to pass up just one more weekend!
Rich

HUM, Brunswick Family Campground ya say ???????????? Well, I just might have to see "IF" Gary & I can calm things down enuff around here to escape for a night or two. It's only about a 50 minute drive for us.

What site did you reserve, if we can make it, I'd like to get on site 20

Gosh, and Sunny IS TOTALLY empty, no food at all in there

Kitty

Did you say site 20? That'll be the one with the '92 2470 Solaris parked on it! (we kinda like the end site backed up to the woods) but I'll bet you find plenty of others, even on the river!
Rich

There are plenty of sites over here in Ohio State Parks. Come on over. :D Glad to have ya. There may ony be 1 or 2 others along with us in an entire state park.

OR you can go camp out at Kohls. They say they are opening at 4:00AM to beat the heavy black Friday shopping traffic....

Have fun

John

I'll drive to Ohio before I camp in Kohls!!!!!!

Our Christmas shopping is all done - just waiting for the deliveries to come....1st arrived today!

Hey thanks for the invitation John, but that ride would take us most of the day, so we'll stay local!

Well come on down then. Bring your pillow. We happend to have a spare TT you can borrow for the weekend and I "think" the floor plan will fit your needs to a Tee.....

It's only about 750 miles, one way. After we camp, then you can go to Kohls if you want

Lucky you having all your Christmass shopping done already. Shopping for my mother is the worst. What do you get an 86 year old that has just about everything??? And she says I don't need anything....

Yup, been doing that the last 5 years now.... All though last year the kids (bro and sis and I) chipped in and got here a digi camera. But now she has that too... Thanks for the thoughts. It might just be another eating place this year. My step dad and her do go out to eat a bit still.

Great way to spend the holiday. Unforunately I already put our Sunline in the pink.

Several years ago we went to Williamsbrug for the grand Illumination around the first of December. We camped at the Pottery Factory camp ground with Mike and Lynn and had a really fun time. You want to find something for every one the Pottery Factory is the place to go. As for Williamsbrug its quite a show in its own right. Its just a long way from Ohio.

Rich & Barb,

We've also put our Sunline in the pink, but Kitty has been suffering from camping withdraw. We'll be flushing out the pink and blowing the water out, in preparation for this weekend. She couldn't believe how quick and easy it was, winterizing with two people. Of course, I was the one doing all the running around!

We'll be getting the Sunline ready this evening and have it ready to go, when I get off work tomorrow.

I am SO glad that the black tank repair worked! I'll be putting the dump valves back on the camper today, as soon as the temps outside cooperate!

Gary

With the 35MPH winds and the temps being what they are, we'll be staying home. I also found out that my dad is having a birthday party tomorrow..

Sunny 14 will be staying in it's pit and safe.

Gary

Just got back from Brunswick, and believe it or not, one out of every three TT there was Sunline! Of course, I'll be quick to add that there were only two other TT's there besides our Sunline, so That's not really saying much.
We had a nice weekend, biked on the C&O canal towpath to Harper's Ferry today and it got up to about the mid 60's, so we were peeling off the jackets and sweatshirts we thought we'd need.
The CG is nice, bath house clean, and if you like trains, it's got them too!
One thing I noticed is that only when I got over under the trees to use the dump station, there were many gnats. We didn't have any out in the clear area and I was wondering if that is something that is common there. Kitty?
Rich

Rich,

Glad to hear you had a good time, and yes today turned out to be a beautiful day. I wish we could have been camping, but we went to Garys' Dads for his birthday dinner saturday (which is in the total opposite direction of Brunswick). Today we had to run an errand which took us to Woodbridge, VA, and then back home to dismantle more of the 299. All the insulation is removed, all the paneling is gone, ceiling & walls are down to the studs. Most of the miles of wiring have been removed, all windows are also removed. SO, lots of hours in the "dismantle mode", and I'll not be in any huge hurry to take another Sunline down to the frame. I am exhausted and so is Gary. I'll just have to hope for another nice weekend so we can escape to Brunswick.

As for the gnats, I don't recall ever having that probelm, and I didn't have a clue about the bathrooms, as I've never even set foot inside the door. It's just a nice close to home, laid back, get away place.

Sorry we couldn't make it.

Kitty

Well we made it out!. YEH. However had a change in plans on which camp…. The winds where blowing and Lake Loramie is pretty open, so we fliped to Delaware SP a whopping 20 miles up the road that is more in the woods... We use this park a lot in the winter and well all year round.

Friday we picked a site so the wind was blowing at the back of the camper and sheltered us sitting out side with the way the trees and brush are situated. Well come Saturday, the wind did a 180 and blow right on us… Oh well, where still camping. :D

Here we are:
