Bathroom switch in '05 2499

OK Guys, I"m having a blonde moment here. The bathroom has 2 rocker switches right inside the bathroom door. the one closest to the door frame operates the ceiling lights, what (?) does the other one operate. I can't remember, and I'd like to know, because apparently it's not working.

I hate to break it to you...you may want to have the blonditis checked out...it's spread to your coach year.

I agree with John, should be the ceiling fan. The fan was probably turned off at the ceiling one time, which is why the switch doesn't do anything right now.

You guys are the greatest. Yep, it was the ceiling fan. It got turned off with the ceiling push button, instead of by the switch. All corrected now. So, that takes care of my "blonde moments" for a while. I hate when something is supposed to work and it doesn't, so I have to fix/correct it.

Did you just run out and try it in the last 30 minutes?

Talk about quick help....

I did away with that whizzzzzzer of a fan and put a Turbo Max fan in place of it and only use it in exhaust mode. Like a whole house fan in a camper. Crack those crank out windows a bit and let is suck in the cool night breeze throughout the camper.

Glad Jon remembered about the pushbutton up in the fan as that went too long ago and I forgot about it.

I didn't have to run out to try it. I'm camping in Williamsburg, VA., so I'm in Sunny. I'll be returning home on sunday. And next weekend I'll be heading out for a weekend gun shoot. So, "Sunny has AWAKENED"(is that a word ?)

I hate that stupid noisy fan, who knows, maybe I "WAS" the one that pushed the button, so that it could not get turned on accidentally.

I have the "Max Air (?) thermostatically controlled fan with the rain sensor in the living room section of Sunny.

Spring has SPRUNG !!!!!!!!!

I agree the little "whizzer" fan is a noisy waste of time and energy if you have the MaxxAir fan. The fiver has a MaxxAir thermostatically controlled fan with the rain sensor installed in the bathroom, but also has the old "whizzer in there too. I'm still trying to figure out the logic behind that.
 
Hi John, no problem. That is an amazing site, if you know the name of it, it's likely that they have it. I got the new marker lights for my Sunny there. It's also where I got the square screwdriver bits for those weird square socket screws all over the Sunny.

We use McMaster Carr at work. It is the bench mark of the industrial hardware store. They have almost a little of everything. And yes it is amazing and they ship immediately. Before the world of the internet, we use to use the 4" thick catalog. You would start reading it and, oh I never knew they had that, and gee you can get that here???. All the stuff you found and was never even looking for it....

I never gave them a thought for the camper stuff, like a 12 VDC fan for the fridge. :roll:

Grainger is another industrial site like McMaster, but they do not sell to the open public. Have to be a business. Why they still hang onto that now a days, don't know. Many a times I wanted to buy from them for home and could not.
 
Grainger's is more a motor / drives house. They sell everything for industrial electrical control too. I have an account there, I get the stepper motors for our robotics projects there. I think they don't sell to non-business because they don't have much for that market. It probably saves them a lot of time not answering questions.

Automation Direct is probably kicking their butt these days, and they'll sell to anyone. Still have to get chains and belts from Grainger, tho.

McMaster also won't answer questions, you gotta know what you want.

I love the McMaster near me, typically if I order before 11am and take normal ground shipping, I get it the same day.

I told my Dad about this because I've known him to have Grainger books around the garage. He said you should have no problem buying something. He says they still take cash, so you'd just have to give them a (fake) business name (like, say, Barca Enterprises), and everyone would be happy.

Those bits (#1, #2, and #3 squares) are found in almost every hardware store and big box (Home Depot, Lowes, etc.) around here along with Torx, allen head, and more, and all in 1/4 inch hex drive. Finding the squares on a handle like a screwdriver or nut driver is a little tougher but I have bought them over the counter around here, too.

Please indulge me while I share a little Canadian history. Robertson screws and screwdrivers were invented in Canada in 1909.

The square heads are so superior to anything else out there that I don't have any other screws in my toolbox. When I'm working on a project the first thing I do is toss the Phillips screws in the hardware bag unless I know I won't need a lot of leverage. They can't be beat from deck screws to anything overhead and they are ideal for a power screwdriver. For some weird reason, even in Canada drywall screws are Phillips.

Robertson screwdrivers come in 4 sizes and 4 colors so they are easy to pick out of a toolbox. I don't have an orange one and have never missed it. The yellow fits a #4 screw. The green one fits the two small screws that attach an electrical outlet or wall switch to the box. The red one fits the screws that the wires attach to--and the screws on the Sunline. The red one also fits most common screw sizes up to #8. I have a black one as it fits #10 screws, but most people seem to get by without that one. Screwdrivers with the replaceable magnetic bits in the handle typically only have the yellow, green and red and many screwdriver sets will just have those 3 as well. The black one is readily available as a single purchase as are the power bits in all sizes.

Now, if I haven't convinced you to "go square", look closely at the Sunline srews and you'll see a small notch in each corner of the square that makes a perfect fit for a Phillips screwdriver. Actually, with the shape of this hole, a Phillips screwdriver gets a really good bite on those screws.
