Advice needed

Hi Everyone,

Received a PM regarding my 2363 that I put in the "for sale" section. Need some thoughts on wether this sounds on the up and up, or not. "Member" just joined our group today and asked what condition of unit, last asking price, and that they would be paying with Paypal.

They gave me an email address that matches the name given too. Appears somewhat legit as there isn't the normal cashier check, money order lingo. Just can't seem to reconcile this as a legitimate PM though.

Appreciate any one's thoughts, even the new "member", if my concerns are real or not.

Not sure what your asking. I use PayPal all the time, it has allot of built in protection. make sure money is in your account

As long as you have the cash in hand before you sign it over and they tow it away, I don't see a problem.

If this was from a "Van Willis" I would disregard it. I also got a PM from this person about the 2653 I have for sale... He has his address listed as Lynwood, WA... That's 2,683.3 miles from me...

I'm curious how many other people got a PM from them.

Whatever you do, don't reply to them.

Hi,

Thanks Gary, and to the others that have replied so far. Yes, this PM was from Van Willis. I did find "him" in Sequim Washington.

I do understand Paypal is legit, but the other parts of the PM just don't add up. Confirmed my concerns now with Gary's PM from the same person too.

If it is on the up and up, the guy will get back to me with out me reaching out to him. Maybe Gary and I can auction our TT's to him for the highest bid!!

I think this is A scam. I have gotten a similar email when I tried to sell anything of value on Craigslist. (ie. a flute) I always answer that I will only sell to someone who shows up in person to look at the item, and never hear from them again.
