7-10-13 UPDATE: niece missing

Still no news and Elaina has not been found. (Oh, how I hate writing that!) DNA may take another 2-3 weeks. Pretrial is in 2 weeks - was praying we'd find Elaina by then. Hope the judge keeps bond in effect so Angela doesn't walk. I'm afraid she's a flight risk and she's actually safer in jail - too many people have said they want a piece of her (not family - we want her around to talk if she ever decides to tell the truth!)

Had a very nice prayer vigil in the rain Saturday evening...three 10 or 11 yr old children wrote and sang a song for Elaina, a long-time family friend sang 'Blessed Assurance' and led the prayer, about 75 soaking wet people marched around the block chanting 'Bring Elaina home!', then 150 balloons were released.

Another vigil was held 7-10-13 with all local tv stations reporting. I had written some thoughts down through tears the other night and printed them. I couldn't read it without tearing up again, so my brother did. The pastor led everyone in singing 'Jesus Loves the Little Children' before the prayer. It's amazing how many friends and people of the community are still out searching daily for any clues.

7-22-13 Update: Niece missing

Boy friend was arrested today on obstruction of justice charges.

Still waiting on DNA of hair. Police say it will be known by end of week (Angela goes to pretrial Wednesday).

It was decided last Wednesday that volunteer searches would be cut back to twice a week unless a new tip comes in.

Still not getting any info from LE.

This was posted Monday evening on the official Facebook page, authorized by family:
"Let me get out what is known so far, Stephen King has been arrested, some statements he made and video interrogation did not match, that is all that is known at this time, DNA has not come back, there is no warrant for his mother, he is being held on felony obstruction charges for interfering with the investigation, this is STILL considered a missing persons case."

This is a quote from a Monday evening ABC news report:
"I can't get into any details of the baby's whereabouts right now, where we think the baby's whereabouts is. All I can tell you for a fact is that he was impeding our investigation," said Sgt. Joe Heffernan.

Police say this is still considered a missing person case.
(I pray they are correct and she is still alive.)

7-26-13 update:

The boyfriend is being held on $100K/no 10% for obstructing justice, giving false information.

'Mom' was granted a continuance until Aug 14 when she appeared for pre-trial on Wednesday. Her attorney had filed paperwork asking the court for $1000 to hire a PI , but the outcome of that request is unknown.

After what was proved to be human hair was found in the river 4 weeks ago, it was announced today that DNA could not prove whether it is Elaina's or not because there is no follicle.

No one is talking, so we are still left with all of our original questions and praying for answers & Elaina's return.

8-8-13 Update:

The family was dealt a terrible surprise in court this morning.

Prosecutor calls missing toddler case homicide investigation - Toledo Blade

Though we feared this may be the truth since Elaina has been missing for more than 2 months now; as recently as last week, TPD stated they had evidence they weren't disclosing that caused them to still consider Elaina's disappearance a 'missing person' case.

Steven will return to court 8-15-13 and Angela's next court date is 8-14-13.

I am soooo sorry to hear this news. It is a terrible blow to the family. I cannot understand the mother not revealing all that she knows...she is her mother after all. She must be protecting this guy. How sad.
