Hello to everyone attending the 2014 Adk Meet & Greet @ Nick's Lake State Campground, Old Forge, NY

This post is to inform everyone of Saturday night’s Pot-Luck Dinner and to provide a way for individuals to sign-up / identify (via a reply to this post) what they would like to bring as a dish to pass.

As has been done at other M&Gs, grilling will be by your own choice, and people can sign-up to bring an entrée as their dish to share / pass .

Saturday night’s Pot-Luck Dinner will consist of:
Everyone is to:
> provide their own drinks and place settings,
> bring a dish to pass.
> grilling by their own choice – but at previous M&Gs the shared dishes has provided more than enough food.

Dishes to share / pass may include (see sign-up list below):
> Entrées
> Salads & Side Dishes
> Desserts

Suggested Serving Size of Shared Dishes: since there’s currently 8 sites, 16 people I would guess that enough to serve 6-8 people should be sufficient.

We do have a reserved M&G Site #54 (Loop C) - we will need to borrow tables from surrounding campsites (we are on 53 - ours can be taken). I would think we only need 4 or 5 tables max. Let me know if we can take yours from your site!

Pot-Luck Dinner Schedule:
> We’ll plan to start eating dinner at 6:30 pm.

If anyone has any food allergies, please post them so everyone knows and can take them into consideration when making their dish to pass.

Please sign-up for what you would like to bring as a dish to pass as a reply to this post.

I’ll try to keep a running list to make it easy to identify what slots are available to sign-up for.

Thanks – looking forward to seeing everyone in September.

Mir is making Venus de Milo soup againg this year.

PS We're camping right now but when we get back we will post our proposed activities and instructions. We will definitely be hosting CAMPFIRE COLD SUPPA, lots of laughs and good ice breaker. Planning Backwoods Bingo, one reason we wanted everyone's vitals. We'll make do with what we get in advance. Still would like to know if there's any interest in our kayaks. Oh did I mention we have prizes.

Sounds like good fun.. what about the kayaks? I missed it.

We will have been on the road for 10 days by the time we get to Nick's Lake so I can't say for sure what we'll contribute. My guess is either a vegetable or a Dutch oven-baked dessert.

Hi All,
We have been and still are on the road but have made reservations to join you. Will bring a vegetable side for the potluck.
Have been wanting to come to this M&G for several years but never could work out the schedule.
We are looking forward to it.

site: forty something, I forgot.

We will bring a family favorite that my mother used when I was camping as a kid and that my grand children love. My mother calls is 'Campers Delight'. It is like goulash but better.

You can use our table.

We will be bringing our kayaks too.

We will bring "Wedding Soup" as our contribution to the Pot Luck Dinner. Other news: Last weekend we ordered a new tow vehicle: 2016 GMC Yukon XL Denali!

I was thinking pot luck is SURPRISE HERE'S WHAT I BROUGHT. But anyway we're making Venus DeMilo soup again this year.

Need a few folding tables for the food!!!

OK I forgot to mention that we need a few fold up tables for the food.....
so if you have one that we can borrow, show up with it on Site 54 on Saturday!

Weather for the weekend is to be mostly sunny, day temps in the high 60's ~ night temps in the high 40's - bring warm cloths for the evening hours - the fog has been setting in around 8pm this past week and does not burn off until around 9am.......

Thanks everyone see ya in a few days!

PS- yea I know I'm double/triple posting but that is what happens when you forget to post something!
