I copied this from the announcements forum..

Mary Ann and I were wondering how many folks are interested in attending the event this year? We are going to start planning things as long as everyone wants to come out. Please let us know..Camping season is coming fast.. The date will be the same as last year. May 17th, 18th and 19th. We will do our best at putting together a nice gathering as possible..

We would like to invite our fellow Sunline friends and family to the 2nd Western Maryland Sunline Owner’s Club M&G at Rocky Gap State Park.

The weekend is all about a laid back, stress free weekend enjoying the company of fellow SOC members. Last year we had an amazing turnout, wonderful weather, good food and great fun.

Rocky Gap State Park is located in the mountains of Western Maryland’s Allegany County with easy access off from I-68. The parks website can be found here: Rocky Gap State Park

Ash loop is the only area that has electric hook ups that allows pets, so we will be gathering there again this year. The loop only contains 30 sites, so we urge you to reserve as soon as possible. The park also has hundreds of non-electric sites in several other loops throughout the park, if you do not choose or wish to have electric hookups.

We could not reserve the same site as we did for last year’s M&G for the host site, so we will have to make due with a little bit smaller site. We will be set up on site #1.

As of right now we have no events planned except a Saturday evening Potluck and campfires each night. As the time draws near we will have a potluck sign up thread posted. I am sure we can encourage David to bring out his smoker and make some BBQ for us though (maybe even those smoked hot dogs!)

As time gets closer we will post more information!

Hope to see you there!!!
Mary Ann & David

Dave and I are going to be on site #13. We will be arriving Thur. and leaving on Sun. Can't wait!

Western Maryland M&G

Just booked site #4 for seven days, arriving Monday May 13 and departing on Monday May 20. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

As promised 2 short video's of the very cool Sky Lantern's Ray and Lynn brought to the M&G. We were all entertained by these very cool lanterns!

Don't want to dampen the fun, but I don't want anyone to get in trouble either:

(From WBOC on line)

PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) - The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says it's banning a type of burning, airborne decoration called a "sky lantern."
The agency said Friday that the balloon-shaped devices can return to earth and start fires.
Sky lanterns are popular in East Asia. They are typically made of oiled rice paper on a bamboo frame. A lighted candle or fuel cell heats the air inside the device, causing it to soar upward.
The agency says some other states have also banned the devices.

We are moving to South Carolina 1 March and will not be able to come back north to attend the M&G. Since we are new to the Sunline community, it would be really great to meet other owners and also see other Sunline models....but, sadly we will not be able to attend.

Are there any other M&G's other than the Maryland one? What about down south? Any in the southeast USA?

Since Sunline was based in Pennsylvania, most of the meet and greets are located where most Sunlines were bough/sold. There are several other meet and greets, but none of them are south of Maryland (That I know of.)

Look in the meet and greet forum and see if you could attend any of the others. I know it wil be quite a trip for you, but any of the meet and greets would be well worth the trip!

There's the Shenandoah River State Park meet and greet in Virginia in October. That's the closest one to SC.

I was planning on bringing the 2653 to RGSP, but decided to take the 344 instead... We're now booked in site #30.. Site #2 was a little to short for it...

Hi all, Haven't been around a while. Been busy with another project and the camper is sleeping in the barn. I was thinking about a weekend to do a shakedown of the camper that isn't too far away. I want to see how it works with the dog & all before we go to Norwalk in July. This sounds like the perfect oportunity.

In case you don't remember, we bought a 90 T205 back in Sept. So for those that have been here before, is there any particular spot we should go for? I checked the website and it appears there are plenty to choose from.

Thanks, Jim & Laurie

Went ahead and booked #24. They all looked similar from the photos.

Plan to arrive sometime Fri afternoon & leave Sun. Looking forward to it!!

Shenandoah River State Park would be ok with us. I will be watching for further information as it comes out.

We really want to attend one of the M&G's... I think it would be really cool. :)

We will be spending the next 6 weeks at the Clearwater Campground in Elizabethtown, NC. From there...who knows where we will go. ;)

Thanks to all and hope to see some of you soon.

Sorry if it had seemed like we have vanished into thin air, but we are here. Thanks for all the messages, emails and phone calls as of late. For those who don’t know us so well, I have been taking care of my parents for the last past 8 years. For the last past 2 years my father starting having more strokes and problems heath wise. For a little over a year now he has required 24/7 care. On April 9th daddy went to heaven after a long hard fight. Things have been more than hectic dealing with all the issues surrounding this.

I do believe David has logged in to the forums a few times, and has tried to keep me up to date on a couple topics…but this is the first chance I have had to log in myself.

I am sorry that I have not kept everyone up to date on the Western Maryland M&G in May. It is still going ahead as planned. I am not quite sure it will be as well planned as last years, but it will happen and it will be a wonderful weekend with our Sunline family. We will update with more info.

Thanks,
Mary Ann

Mary Ann...so sorry to hear of your fathers passing.....our prayers are with you!

As far as planning - I know at the Adk M&G - nothing is planned except Saturday night pot luck dinner.....we go to be with friends and don't worry about the "palnned activities"...you'll see - everything will work out fine!
