2013 Adirondack M&G - September 20 & 21, 2013

Lorie and I will be coming after work on Friday and leaving Sunday. Hopefully there will still be ice cream left by the time we get there and get set up. We'll be Paul and Sheri's backyard neighbors in site D56.

You may want to re-think D loop since there are still sites left in "c", check with John & Kim and let me know!

To keep this note current: Coach Crawl tour

Ever wonder what the other trailers looks like, what the floor plan is?

Anyone want to show their Sunline, vintage Sunline, new SOB, special mods, tow vehicles?

Let me know and sign up here. We have a few listed now and anyone can join the tour at 4:00 Saturday. We'd like to have a few more coaches to show. I'll post the list in a couple of weeks.

SIGN UP NOW,

Coach Crawl Tour

Hi All,
I have reserved site #50 for FSS at Nick's Lake for the M&G in Sept. We are also up for the "Trailer Crawl" as we had Sunline make 19 modifications to our trailer before it left the factory and we've quadrupled that number of mods since. See you all there.

How about starting a new thread for the Coach Crawl tour? It's a little confusing who's in and who's not.

Count us in for the Crawl; we'll be rolling in Thursday fairly early since we're coming from Glimmerglass State Park near Cooperstown.
We're hoping to do some kind of river float Friday, if the weather cooperates. If any other folks with kayaks or canoes are interested in joining us, maybe we can coordinate a shuttle.

Here is a list of who is attending and as much info I could gather from the postings for Adk M&G! If I've missed someone or got the wrong info on you, please let me know.

I am trying to get this ready, as September is such a busy month for Leo and myself. Next weekend we are at WNY M&G; we come home on Monday and start prepping for our Annual Firefighters Training - we have over 250 firemen converge on the town and we host a weekend of schooling and partying; and then it is OUR WEEKEND YEA!!!!!

If anyone wants to organize a float trip (canoe; kayak on Nick's please let me know, we'll see if we can get some interest!

Sam - I sent you a PM
Paul, when are you arriving/leaving?
Chuck, when are you arriving/leaving?
Lynn, I sent you a PM

Thanks for all the participation - it looks like we will have a great weekend! Good friends, fun, food and comradely.

Kathy

PS - when I copy & pasted the list it looked great, when I went to post it , it looked like poop! Going to give up on it tonight - will work on it in the morning!

Kathy, we are coming in on Thursday and leaving Sunday. We are interested in a kayak trip.

Tentative schedule of events

Welcome to the 7th Annual Adirondack M&G. Way back in 2007 ~ 7 Sunline owners got together here at Nick’s Lake Campground! As we sat around a fire in the dark Adirondack night, someone made a comment that they had no idea what they were getting themselves into! Harvey had visions of someone being an ax murderer and luring everyone to a “camp out” to get murdered! Well obviously that did not happen, as the only one of the original group not participating is Harvey & Jan, who were the first of many to become SOB’s!

We all hope you enjoy yourself, meeting new friends, touring RV’s, eating (and drinking) well and maybe visiting the town of Old Forge!

Here is a tentative schedule of what is going on for the weekend!

Thursday – September 19th, some of you will be arriving (however Leo and I have an EMS meeting down in Herkimer, if we get back at a decent hour, we’ll stop up). Please walk around and introduce yourself to some of the people here in Loop C – I think most of us attending will be members of SOC!

Friday – September 20th – The Meet & Greet site (#54) is officially ours,
Noonish - Some of the seasoned attendees will be around, so if you have a tarp or (folding) table for the food, you want to set up on the site – that would be great, otherwise Leo and I will get there around noonish and after we set up, we can set up the M&G Site! So many hands make light work….feel free to come on over and give a hand, we normally steal the picnic tables from Sites 37, 52 (sorry Chuck), 54, 55, and this year I think we may need two more!

Rest of the Day – Enjoy the beautiful Adirondacks, go into town and be sure to visit the Old Forge Hardware Store, it is unique!, Go for a bike or a kayak ride or just sit back and enjoy what Mother Nature has provided to us!

Friday, September 20th – continued:
7:30 PM - 2013 Adk M&G Ice Cream Social & Campfire, Site 54

What to Bring to Share:
Each attendee (i.e., site) is to bring to share:
> Ice Cream & Ice Cream scoop
(1/2 Gallon or 1 Pint of your favorite flavor, duplicate flavors are encouraged; please put your name & site # on your scoop)
OR
> Syrup & Topping such as wipe cream, nuts, sprinkles, etc.

What you need:
Everyone is to bring their own
> Bowl
> Spoon

The original provider should pick up their ice cream or toppings at the conclusion of the social.Any ice cream or toppings not picked up by 10pm will be thrown out.
Any remaining ice cream scoops will be left in the tent area. (Remember please put your name & site # on your scoop so it doesn't get lost).

Saturday, September 21st:
Everyone is pretty much on their own, hopefully someone may have organized a bike or float trip amongst us……there are many “touristy things” to do in Old Forge, so if you have any questions, find Leo or myself and ask!

4:00 PM – Trailer Crawl – Meet at site #54 - our host will be Paul and he said!
I like to see different campers from large RV's to the smaller units and look at the different floor plans, modifications, new ideas from the industry, interesting tow vehicles and older units still in great shape.

All are invited Saturday at 4:00 starting at site 54 (M&G site) for a short tour of the following units:
53 - 2013 Rubicon toy Hauler, new this year. Kathy and Leo
46 - 1983 T-1550. Lynn
47 - 2013 Rockwood 8280WS 5th wheel. Paul & Sheri
49 - Jack 34’ Minnie Vectra Ford
50 - 2002 Sunline 2753, many mods. Ann and Keech
52 - 2003 T-2499. Chuck and Terry (and yes Terry we have to make out beds)
42 - 2007 T2499. Larry and Wendy
If you did not sign up and would like to show us your trailer, please let Paul know (he is on site 47 – the only one with water and electric!

6:00PM – Pot Luck Dinner and Campfire – Site 54 – hosted by “all of us”!

Everyone is to:
> provide their own drinks and place settings,
> bring a dish to pass.
> grilling by their own choice – but at previous M&Gs the shared dishes has provided more than enough food.

Dishes to share / pass may include:
> Entrées
> Salads & Side Dishes
> Desserts
If anyone has any food allergies, please let us know.

Also, please make a little sign to let everyone know what is being served.......we do have bear @ Nick's who may like to join in the leftovers if you don't take them back to your camper with you!

Sunday, September 22nd
9:30 AM – Clean Up Time – Site #54
Please come join us and help clean up after a fun filled weekend…..all tables must be put back into the sites we stole (opps borrowed) them from………fire needs to be out and watered down, all tarps and folding tables need to be taken down and put away and retrieved by their owners.
As we begin to say our fond farewells…..start thinking about next year!

We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and hope to see you at our:

8th Annual Adirondack Meet & Greet

September 2014

THANKS FOR COMING AND DRIVE SAFELY!

WOULD SOMEONE LIKE TO ORGANIZE A FLOAT TRIP?

Kathy, I'm fairly sure you met make up OUR beds.... I hope.

We'll be arriving around 3 or 4 on Thursday and leaving Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to seeing everyone again.

We've been busy investigating kayaks and trying to figure out how to carry them in the truck as it has a large toolbox and the generator in the front. (May need advice). Bought one (perception sport) and will see if another can be purchased locally. The stable ones for newbies ! (If anyone has one they are interested in selling, PM me!)

Anyway, our camper will be available if anyone wants to take a look. According to Jon, Sunline only made a few 250 SR's. It is nothing fancy, but we'd be happy to show it. A couple of little mods that Tom did this summer with his woodworking skills !

Hi Debbie, A quick note to not bog this thread down on this. Open a new one for more conversation.

Does hubby have a rack on the truck that goes in the stake bed holes? As long as the bed rail holes are exposed this offers many options.

Have a good time in the ADK's. A really great place to camp.

John
