WHEN: May 18-20, 2012
WHERE: Gateway Park Campground, 4111 West Hallett Road, Hillsdale, MI, 49242
WHO: You! We'd like to see as many members as possible! Family & friends are also welcome to attend.

Campground Address: 4111 West Hallett Road, Hillsdale, MI, 49242

ATTENDEE LIST:

RESERVATIONS: Contact Michelle or Tim Wilcox at (517) 437-7005. Mention that you are part of the Sunline group. We stay in the pull through sites, though you can reserve a back-in if you wish, but it will be farther away from the rest of the group. PLEASE POST IF YOU'VE MADE A RESERVATION HERE, along with the site number and nights you'll stay, so we can keep track of who is coming and for what days.

RATES: The rates for the pull throughs were $39/night in 2010. Back ins were $35/night in 2010. Rates will probably raise slightly for 2012, so make sure to check the website for the latest rates. There are also electric only (cheaper) sites available, but these are away from the group area as well.

DISCOUNTS: I believe Gateway accepts the usual type of discounts, Good Sam, AAA, etc. Again, check with Gateway for the most up-to-date information.

ONLINE RESERVATIONS: You may make online reservations, but make sure to include that you are part of the Sunline group in the comment section.

MEET & GREET ACTIVITIES: We usually have community pot-luck meals and community campfires together on someone's site. They are rain or shine, because Gateway has an enclose recreation hall available to us in case of bad weather. Otherwise, we have coach tours, maintenance how-to's, emergency repair help, and just general meeting and greeting. The atmosphere is very laid back and enjoyable, so attendees are welcome to do participate in as little or as much as they want.

THE AREA: The area has interesting things to offer. The main draw to the area is the Michigan International Speedway, which is about a half hour away. We chose the weekend here based on it not typically being a race weekend, because getting reservations at the park is difficult then. Other area attractions are the City of Hillsdale, Hillsdale College, and the City of Jonesville. Both cities, especially Hillsdale, contain a lot of history. Both cities contain some good restaurants too.

SHOPPING: There is a Wal-mart about five miles away for all those forgotten items. They also have food there as well. There is a Tractor Supply across the street from that too. It is located just south of Jonesville, between Jonesville and Hillsdale on M-99. From Gateway, take Hallett east to Lake Wilson Road (about 1.1 miles), then turn north on Lake Wilson Road. Take Lake Wilson about 3.5 miles, where it will dead end into a stop light and M-99. Continue across M-99 and into the strip mall parking lot containing Wal-Mart. If Wal-mart doesn't have what you need, the closest big city with the large box stores/malls is probably Jackson, MI, which is about an hour away. Depending on the store, you might find it in Coldwater, MI, which is about a half hour away. There is an RV dealer in Hillsdale if you need a part not available at Wal-mart.

POTLUCK FOOD LIST:
Saturday Dinner:
Fruit Salad- Clueless Campers
Fresh Rhubarb Crumble Dessert- Apackof2
Calico Beans & Cole Slaw- vanhakke
Pizza Pork Chops- J&A Lima OH
Potato Salad- Sunline Fan

Sunday Omelets- BRING INGREDIENTS THAT YOU'D LIKE IN YOUR OMELET
See this link to see how it's done:

Gateway Park is a very nice campground with many amenities.
The large pull-through sites have level concrete pads and patios (someone once said it was like parking on an airstrip :p), W/E/S, cable, and free wi-fi. My Verizon cell phone picks up a strong signal.
Those camping have private access to fishing and boating on South Sand Lake. Paddle boats, rowboats, pontoons and bicycles can be rented.
For anyone who finds time between meeting, greeting and eating (what's a Sunline M&G without lots of shared meals ;-)), there is a basketball hoop, volleyball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, air hockey, billiards, carpetball (like shuffleboard played with cue sticks and billiard balls), video games, a playground and a heated pool (although it is usually a bit chilly to swim in SW MI for another week or so).
Tim and Michelle will deliver a generous size bundle of wood to your site for a very reasonable fee so you don't need to worry about getting caught carrying firewood through restricted areas due to the Emerald Ash Borer.
Maybe they should be called a resort instead of a campground 8).
Of course the best part of spending a late May weekend in Hillsdale is sharing it with other club members - Hope to see you there!

Just got an e-mail back from Michelle @ Gateway and we are good for that weekend.

So now y'all can call and make reservations, and make sure you mention you're with the Sunline group.

Just found out this week that I will have that weekend free, so If dear wife can get off we are planning on being there.

Although I have had my T-1950 for 2 years now this year will be my maiden tour so I will be signing up to meet other MI Sunline owners!(as long as this campgrounds allows dogs

Great! They do allow dogs, as far as I know, unless something has changed recently.

Thanks for the email that reminded me to: A- log into this site again after the winter hiatus. And B-that we will again not be able to make it this year as it is my wife's weekend to work.

Great! I got an e-mail from Michelle last week after I inquired how many had reservations. With you, it should be up to 3 now.

We will be unable to bring our Sunline to the M&G again this year because of medical issues :(. I am unable to get into the bathroom with the walker I'm using and can barely get down the hallway without scraping the walls. Charlie had surgery to repair a hernia yesterday and will be unable to lift more than 10 pounds for the next 6 weeks. Right now, he is moving very slowly and says it feels like he swallowed a porcupine.

We would really like to see everyone and meet the new members who are attending this year.

Maybe we could drive up to visit on Saturday. I could prepare a fruit salad (or something that could be made at home and travel for 2 hours) for the potluck dinner. I have a crock pot with an insulated travel bag to keep it cold/hot.

Would anyone be willing to let us park and set our chairs on their site?

I wouldn't mind if you don't mind a friendly nine month old puppy!
