So I have a entry door that is completely rotten and falling apart. It looks to be a replacement door already because it doesn't match the colors of the rest of the camper. Is it easier to take it apart and rebuild it or just order a new one from somewhere? Thanks in advance.

Door

The first think that I'd check out is, why did the door rot out in the first place? Chances are that if it rotted out once, it'll do it again unless you fix the problem.

Hi Parkspop,

It may be cheaper to rebuild it. I don't think the doors are cheap. On mine (although quite a bit older), the outer edges under the aluminum trim is wood. The center is white Styrofoam. The door wasn't hard to take apart at all.

Thanks
Tommie

Yeah, something seems odd, I don't believe the door has wood framing. Sunline got away from that around 1996.

That said, as Tommie said, rebuilding a door isn't terribly difficult if you have some basic tools.

Hi,

If your door is from a 2004 camper, which sounds like it may be, something is not adding up. The 2004 doors where not the wood framed doors of the past.

Can you please post some pics of what is falling apart? We may be able to see what the problem is.

Hope this helps

John
