2003 T-330SR furnace issue

Hope this solves your issue. Did you get the igniter too? If it is so rusted your afraid the wire is going to fall off, maybe it needs to be replaced?

Yes, please report back on the Dinosoar Fan plus 50 board install. I have read you need to change the T stat wiring setup when converting but so far no one has posted who changed one if this is a need or not.

Thanks

John
I didn't get the ignitor , I cleaned it up last weekend , and looks better...
I will let you know about the board in a week , I'm not going back up to camp till then...

If my memory serves me correctly it can be used without the rewire using a jumper on pins on the board. The wiring thing is simple using the instructions. We always did the wiring.

So this board should be a pretty simple swap ?? I'm heading up tonight and I'm going to tackle this tomorrow..

It really is simple and I would do the simple rewire just because on my first trl I forgot to turn the tstat off a couple times and had a dead battery because of the blower running with the LP turned off.

This is what I got with the board...

He is not missing anything. That is exactly what comes with the board and all he has to do. I have never heard of anything about having to mess with the T stat wiring.

Ok got to camp early , installed board following the instruction sheet...took longer to get the old board out then to install the new board....so far 5 hours and the furnace is working like a champ!!!

Thanks on the clarification. The web site is very misleading. Maybe they changed the board jumpers to take care of this issue but the web site then is really out of date.

YEH!!! :D Good deal. Let us know if it hangs in there.

Glad to hear your furnace is working properly again. John B, the T stat rewire is only for Duo Therm 900/9000 series furnaces not Atwood or Suburban furnaces. I have never had to work on a Duo Therm.

Ok it's a tad after 6am I'm in my tree stand (phone booth) for over a hour 30 degrees out ...the only place I get service up at camp...so the furnace worked like a champ all night my wife and daughter are happy to have heat again....now if a deer would visit my stand I'd be a very happy camper to get some meat in the freezer...

Hi Dave,

Thanks, I went and re-read the Dinosauer site which said this.

Instructions and diagrams for modifying DuoTherm® 900/9000 series OR any furnace that is controlled by the themrostat in the ground circuitry, for the purpose of using a Fan 50 Plus Pins, Fan 50 Plus or TDR

What tripped me up was the OR. The Atwoods use a sinking ground connection to make the system run so I read those words they posted different.

Re-reading their wiring diagram, it seems the DuoTherms actually turns the power on and off the control board by the T stat and they switch the ground wire, not the hot. In "that" case they want you to rewire it or any brand that does the same thing.

The Atwoods have their own hot and ground wire to the main board. They use a T stat as a signal wire looking for a ground connection to run. That is different.

I now understand and thanks for chiming on on this.

John

I think you will find that with knowledge base of the members here you will be able to repair anything on your trailer. I know I am a retired RV Tech and I learn new things on here. Like the T-Stat wiring that John B and I talked about. By the way thanks John B for your info.

Good to hear it's all fixed and the board did the trick. Good luck hunting.
