Hi, everyone. My husband and I are looking at a 2000 T-1950 for $6500 (at a dealer). Does this sound like a good deal? The fold-down table & swivel rocker are missing, but the previous ower has said they still have the table & will bring it to the dealer. We can buy a chair to use, although I'm not sure about how to secure it. My main question is about the corner bed. My husband is 6'1" - are there other fairly tall guys out there who sleep comfortably on these beds? I'm only 5'0", but still like to have room for my arms & legs. We really do love the trailer, but if anyone has any feedback about the corner bed & T-1950's in general & whether this sounds like a buy too good to pass up or a rip-off, I'd love to hear from them. By the way, we've had pop-ups & got tired of cranking & pushing & pulling, are using a tent now. The T-1950 seems to be right in line with what our 6 cyl. 2003 GMC Envoy will tow easily.
Thanks!

We just paid 13,900 for a 2007. We drove from GA to PA to get it. My husband and I are not small people and we sleep well in the corner bed though I added memory foam and fiberfill toppers to make the mattress really plush. I think your husband will be okay because you are so small. He will probably sleep at an angle though.

Hi Dogcrazy,

Before you purchase the trailer, I would suggest you try towing it with your Envoy to see how it handles and to make sure it does tow the trailer with no problems.

Your Envoy's tow rating (2003 Envoys are rated at 5,300 - 6,200 lbs depending on 2wd / 4wd & gears) is greater than the GVWR of the T-1950 (which is 5000lbs), so it should tow fine, but it's always nice to test it before buying. The dealership should be willing to set you up with the proper hitch to test drive / tow it.

As Jon mentioned, the price seems a little high, plus missing the chair, you have room to bargain.

Good luck

Hutch

As for a replacement chair, check the thread here for "Swivel Rocker". For 129.99 I replaced my factory swivel rocker with a glider rocker & matching ottoman. As for securing the chair while in transit, get velcro, connect about an inch of the velcro together, then put a screw thru the connected piece and screw it in the front corner of the living room where the chair is. Then you just wrap the velcro around the chair, connect it to itself. That is how mine is held in place.

Hmmm...we have a TrailBlazer with the I6. My husband refused to buy a 1950 because he thought it would bog down the vehicle. Maybe you can take it for a test tow. I'd be interested to know how it goes.

We had a 2004 Ford Explorer and was not comfortable at all towing our 1950!

See if the dealer will let you test tow it! And take it for a long drive - go on the highway and up a steep hill......
