1985 T1950, elec.brake magnet, round, needed.

Seems something as simple as a magnet isn't quite so simple.

The wires are broken on one of my brake magnets.
Seems the Round Magnet with the Round hole has been superseded to something else. :-? Now the fun begins. Web pages say "replace the arm", sure.....where's a link to the new arm that takes the new model magnet?
Where can find a "new old stock" magnet so I don't have to replace the arm? HELP !!!

10" Dexter Drum model:8-237, 1-1/2" brakes.

Have you checked into a complete replacement? Might not be as expensive as you think.

I've been looking at a couple sites, may have to go that route.

We started doing the whole replacement 3 years ago where I worked because it was cheaper than the parts and labor.

The snag is that on this Dexter Axle, the backing plate is Welded to the axle, so, all I can do is replace parts. It's been 3 days since I talked to someone at Dexter Axle, they took my name, home phone, cell phone & e-mail address..........not a Word from them in 3 days! :-(
