Start this off with a, hello everyone!

I have a 1980 Sunline Trailer/ camper I will be restoring. This is my first camper and she is jacked up! That does not bother me cause the second I received the trailer I knew what work was involved n that she was being gutted n restored. Traded a featherlight rifle for her ;)

I have big plans for her need to lift her with bigger tires, springs etc set up cause going up even the smallest driveways with an angle on them you gonna be stuck or rip something off ...ouch! n we don't want that so up she is going.

Tomorrow after work I will be placing stud/ supports to hold the roof n walls in place as I gut the inside. Once the inside has been completed gutted I will start by taking one wall down at a time first I will strip the metal of the outside furring strip frame then I will remove the furring strip frame completely intact once I have that done I will prefab the wall put back in place on trailer and repeat on all 4 walls then we open the floor to work on rear and replace floor and finally the roof. I will get deeper into that when the time comes.

Be very careful when you are out side the camper working with the windows opened/ sticking out I bent over n turned around quickly and the sharp corner of the metal frame on the window split me to the bone :p I had it coming lmao!!! Just be very careful u can lose an eye ;) I will be sharing images as I go. How many can I post at a time only 6? I have lots I want ta share and learn ;)

Looks like you have quite a project going there. I see you have a cute assistant to help out, I am sure she will enjoy the finished product.

Keep us updated, we love to see progress like that.

... and BE CAREFULL, that looks like a nasty cut.

Hi Gene, the helper is my daughter and she loves to work hands on. I agree with you I do have my hands full with this project but to me the journey is everything ;) I look forward to finishing this trailer. I will definitely be getting something bigger very soon, either a truck camper or larger trailer? I will keep updating my progress on the Restoration of my Sunline trailer. Anyone know the model of my trailer cause I don't...dang Newbie! lol!! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and stopping in an taking an interest.

Appears to be a 15' SC.

Click the "FILES" tab at top of this page. Then Click on the brochures tab and go to the 1980 brochure. Click "DOWNLOAD". Enjoy.

Hi bunjin. I was looking at the 15 easy going models CHART and noticed the 15' SC was the exact layout I have. I do have a Question... does the bumper and the flip up tongue over the window have to be measured? I only measured the trailer at the tow longest points of camper body n she measure 12' 1/2" that's what confused me between the two models on the 15 easy going models chart? Wouldn't I be the 12' 1/2" MC ? Thanks for response! Just about ta head out n start working on trailer now ;)

Sunline measurements are from the back bumper to the centerline of the tongue coupler.I believe the centerline, if not the centerline then the total length of trailer.

10-4 Good Buddy! Sure glad u guys n gals r out here!! ;)

Moving along...

did a little gutting after work. Sure glad that I am redoing this dirty little girl  So far I have found hundreds of egg-corns under the toilet tank used ta hook to city lines and in the wheel wells, but the worst has to be all the mouse poop and mold that I am finding. Mice have been living in the ceiling, walls and even in the kitchen cabinet floor NASTY!

Definitely don't want my kids sleeping, eating, or doing anything in there! Good place ta stick the mother in-law to sleep when she visits Bwahhaah!!! Just kidding !!!!! But it is funny! ;)

You can see the water damage to the wood in the images as well take a look...

Sorry folks the heading ta this thread/ restoration should have been "1980 15' Sunline Trailer restore" Apparently I have the 15 SC n didn't know as I am a newbie to this n this is my first trailer n restore. Would this be called a restore or rebuild ? Not sure if restoration means back to the original thing or just rebuilt to ones liking as I plan on doing?

Prior 1979 15ft OWNER Album

WOW, WELCOME, CONGRATS on your find, project.. What City in NY ? I grew up in TROY, many years in Poughkeepsie...... Current Sale Creek S.E. TENN.
Two yrs ago got a 1979 15 ft from a neighbor,,, not a title, but after tougue scraping near your raise hand jack we found the FIVE digit serial # on the upper side of the frame,,, Started with "4" Some of my ALBUM should be
in the gallery.... We had a small TOILET Room around where you are showing a porti - Potty . Six onths later we went out of state for the 18 foot SunLine
5th wheel or GOOSENECK style camper, had a tub, roof AC, etc.. PIC BELOW
....

KEEP POSTING

Front window Rock Guard MURAL

That front window raise cover is called a ROCK GUARD, or Sun Screen,
very thin fiberglass sheet, does yellow over time from sun, can take out some small sheet metal screws & rubber edge grommet to remove, I asked my
artist friend visitor fromFla to paint a SUN-- Set MURAL on ours.. You might even find ELECTRIC BRAKES on your rig,, wires coming out from axle underneath ?
