Well I heated the end of the hose with a hair...

Well I heated the end of the hose with a hair dryer - all that seemed to do was shrink the plastic making even tighter to push on....I'll try hot water and the screw motion this time......why is it...

Leo bought the two ends for a new stinky slinky.....does anyone have a simple way to install them????? He got the one end on and cannot get the other one on.......any suggestions anyone?
