Many thanks! That seems to be the "trend". I'll check it out in the near future to see if this both fixes my rest room lights, and solves this mystery which has been plaguing my mind....

Yes the lights themselves have a "slide switch" on position activates one light, the other position turns on the fixtures second light, and then there's "off".
