Again if you match light it you will need a friend to hold the gas button in. Be sure to put the cover on or the wind will blow it out

If it has the two push buttons it needs no battery. If it has a panel with lights it does.

Yes it can take some time to purge the air...

Yes it can take some time to purge the air particularly if the tank has been off for awhile all though running the stove should take care of most of it.

I assume yours is electronic (lights on a panel) I believe there are two fuses on the control board. Is the "check light on?
