Yes they have to be inspected. I'm too used to MH's with fixed tanks my little Toyota MH had a saddle mount 30LB tank it was a 67 and it was not required to be re certified same with the side mounted...

I do not believe the horizontal tanks need to be recertified they are completely different than vertical tanks. I also believe they are DOT tanks. Back in 98 they exempted them from having to replace...
