Yep...we also looked for a stud under the TV cabinet, thinking we could swing the TV forward. But, as you also found there is no wood there. And we didn't want to have to buy a larger TV. Looks like...

It must have been TV mount weekend. Here's where we decided to put ours. It's a little 15" so we needed it closer than the Sunline location. Conveniently, there is a stud right where we needed one....
