Mine wasn't riveted. Sorry if I didn't clarify that. I forgot at the moment when I wrote that that some of the plates were riveted on. I was getting at trying the little red lever inside....

This doesn't sound good. The last thing you want to do is damage the fiberglass because the striping can't be replaced. I don't think the lockset itself can be removed with the deadbolt...
