That is a great low-cost storage idea that can help keep thing organized and easier to find. Mines (storage wells), however, go completely through from one side to the other, I will consider/experiment with putting peg board on the inside wall near the opening so longer item can still be access and/or reach from either end so I will not have pull things out to get to something (or not be able to reach since the well is 7' wide).
