Your too funny! I would love to help you if I lived close by but I would never want the responsibility of repairing someone else's trailer. Yes, Sunline dropped the ball when they installed their rubber roofs. Plywood does not add that much weight to a small trailer. I am hunting a T-2990. They have the best bathrooms for a non-slide trailer. Have a great Memorial Day my friend! I am leaving with the Sunline to Winchester Va tomorrow morning. It is only 65 here today. It was great weather for me to get my mulching done!

Oh, I wouldn't even think of using bud board! I wish Sunline hadn't used it either!

Thanks for feed back. Temps here have flip flopped. We are suppose to have night temps back down around 35F ....tomorrow night I believe. We had much needed rain last night and this morning. Bright and sunny this afternoon and evening.

I kinda figured I would just trailer down your way....drop trailer off and continue on down to VA. to visit my daughter and pick it up on my way back after you finished it!

Hi! The roof is a very easy job! My advice would be to use luan instead of bud board. Just peal off the bud board and glue to the luan. I wish I had taken pictures to show you but I just wanted to get it done. Let me know if you need any thing! It's 95 here today and very humid! Geez we didn't have a spring!

    Chuck,

What you did to your roof is what I would like to do to my roof. I would like to just lift the back area. It is the bedroom. Lift and inspect and replace the bud board there. Then lay the roof back down....if it is in good shape.

I also would like to repaint at least some areas of the trailer if not the whole thing. The previous owner went a little crazy on the front upper area near the roof. Down to the bare aluminum in a couple spots.

Last, but not least. the decals, which I looked at this morning and they are flattening out pretty good.

The first thing though is to put some kind of shelter over it to protect it from the elements. I'm not sure how fast I will be able to do the job. Also I would like to have some shelter for the seasons.

Hi guy! Sorry to hear your having issues. I removed the rubber from the back of the trailer far enough to repair the rotted rafters. I removed the rotted bud board and glued and stapled luan to the rafters and edges of the trailer. I then glued the rubber to the luan. I removed all the rusted screws from the gutters on each side of the trailer and replaced with new along with the vinyl screw cover. It was time consuming but an easy job. I trust things get better for you!

I have the decals under some weight in a spare bedroom. I haven't had time to work on that at the moment. I have several personal issues I'm dealing with at the moment, thus the decals are on the back burner.

I may need to do some work on my roof. I may need to replace it. I was wondering if you replaced yours or did you lift it and do the rafters and luan and lay the original back down? I guess I'm asking if you lifted just a portion of the roof or removed the whole thing?

Hi! I removed the rubber roof to repair the rafters. It was a big job but I was pleased with the outcome. The ceiling was saved. I glued a layer of luan on top of it to give it strength due to the water damage. The door trim is actually the only plastic I did not replace. I got a can of paint for plastic (Krylon)at Lowes and painted them. They look new and it was so easy. I taped them off without removing them. It was a very easy job and the paint is like five bucks a can. That paint is also good on plastic stove and refrigerator vents if they aren't damaged. The paint does not peal and whatever you paint will not turn yellow again! Thanks for the compliment. I love my trailer and can't wait to use it in two weeks. I'm going to Virginia!

    Chuck,

Wow! Your trailer looks greats! Nice job.

Did you come down from above or go up thru the ceiling to do the rafter repairs. From the pictures I couldn't see anything that looked like ceiling work had been done.

    Everything looks brand new.

Where did you get the door window plastic trim "if" you replaced? I may need think about replacing most everything plastic on my unit due to aging "checking".

    Lynn
