Sandusky/Norwalk OH Area

Planing to attend the Summit Nationals next year at Norwalk OH. Haven't decided on dry camping at the track or going to a campground. Naturaly the closest campground to the track would be an advantage. Any chance someone here is familiar with the area? I need to get reservations made soon.
Thanks Jim

I don't know about campgrounds near Norwalk. I've attended the Nationals and other races there. All I can say is hope you like generator noise

LOL! Just talked to my buddy and decided we will go for the on grounds spot. Sold him my Class C several years ago along with the Yamaha 2500 generator. He never uses it and agreed to sell it back. So I will be one of those making noise. He has one of the few motorhome spots with power hookup. I went with him this year as his wife couldn't go. Earplugs are standard issue for the weekend!!

When you went how difficult was it claiming a spot? They open the campground Tues morning. I was thinking of going out Wednesday instead of waiting till Thursday.

Thought I would update this since we are back. Certainly wasn't Rocky Gap State Park LOL!! But we had an absolute blast! We were fortunate that we had nice people all around us. I think most there were all just out for a good time and to get along. 4 guys from Cleveland pulled in next to us in an old Class A they had just traded a boat for. They were a hoot, knew next to nothing about RVs. They had a big C-clamp holding the one awning rafter, something with the generator/ electrical system went kaput but they soldiered on. Seems as long as the shots & beers held out they were happy as clams. LOL

It sure was nice to just walk across the parking lot to the track. We were up till midnight ?? each night and didn't really notice a lot of noise. Golf carts and 4 wheelers galore. One guy has a motorized picnic table he brings every year. I should have got a picture. Anyway, this is what it looked like.

Thanks, Actually been thinking about doing Bristol instead next year. They have sites with full hookups plus do something different.
