Myers are very nice and some of the best are not too far from Oscar Scherer. My Mom has a double-wide in Englewood which is just south of Venice and so, if you go to that area and want some recommendations on restaurants, just PM us. Right now, FLA in February sounds great; Mom said yesterday it was in the 70s down there and, of course, it's all of 16 degrees here... and going down!

Thanks Matthew & Lisa.....We like the west. When my dad was living, he and his wife had a double wide in Sebring, and usually stayed with them, but visited Sarasota & Ft Myers areas. We will be in Fl about 2 weeks, and plan on being on the Gulf coast for about a week. An old school friend of Sue's just built a place in Ft Myers, and we have other friends in the Sarasota area.

H.B. We have also been planning a Central Fla trip . Also use to live east Coast. Indian river, etc.. I-95 in feb has the two weeks for NASCAR speed weeks in Daytona & then rolls over to the motorcycle crowd March for bike week.. Like other members comment Fla is about as tight as a shoe-horn for camper visitors. We use to Full-time & did have Passport America, nifty for the year, you can get ON-LIine now & read the Florida sites. At the bottom of all the FINE PRINT almost all say NOT VALID JAN- MARCH,!!

A.W. We will also be close to Crystal River, area is just to Relax & soak in the quiet kayak clear paddle water, flat bike riding, etc,.. Wife is doing a music seminar, so that local campground is giving 50% discount for the Four day stay. Places should be full price if moving each day , IMO. . Try to make friends ahead of time & bring a 2nd extension cord for their backyard is the best advise.. Again the roads on the east coast & below Orlando should be crowded.. Also get into Spring break for schools. !! Rental cars., etc..

MEMBERS, here is a example of PASSPORT AMERICA , 1st one I clicked, This is Crystal River, FINE PRINT towards bottom , NOT VALID , OCTOBER - APRIL .!!!! Just a heads up . http://www.passportamerica.com/campg...coreresort1598

You should plan a stop up in Cedar Key at Pat & Cindy's place. Low Key Hideaway. You might want to check availability now though since I know they do book up.

And it was a lovely 68 degrees there today!

They are! And I believe their custom built '07 2499 is parked on site too beyond the RV sites.

Their username is EMAM, otherwise known as Every Miles a Memory.

I have our trip mostly planned out now. I did join PA. and I saved the cost of the plan at one CG. You do need to make sure you read the restrictions. Some places do not honor PA from Jan-April, holidays etc, but to me it was well worth the cost, and I got a discount by buying it at Camping World! On a couple short term stops I was able to get in state parks. Others in RV parks.
So now we are anxiously waiting for Feb 14 to get here.
H.

Split, We got 1 campsite for $17.50 a nite. Staying 4 nites. In Leesburg just NW of Orlando.
Never been to the Finger Lakes. That's on my bucket list.
Just saw your post on the old thread "NE trip suggestions". Been to Maine many times and just on a bus trip two years ago to the Hudson River area. Walked over the Poughkeepsie bridge. Spent about 4 days in that area. Enjoyed it very much.

That would be fun. The more the merrier. If this trip goes good we may go again next year. We will be gone all but 3 weeks.
