Desoto Falls State Park in N.E. Alabama

We just got back from another trip from Atlanta to Desoto Falls. This state park is on the back of the same ridge that forms Lookout Mt. in Chattanooga TN. It's a really cool area. The lookout Mt. Ridge is flat topped and contains the only river the "Little River" that runs along a mountain top.

Lots of great hiking, falls, the town of Mentone with antique shopping and great resturants, The Little River Gorge National Park and much more.

But the best part is that they have completely redone the campground at Desoto Falls State Park. It's one of the nicest I've been in - full hookups, great bath houses (if you have a smaller sunline) new pads, widely spaced campsites, pull throughts and back ins.

We had a great time.
