Campgrounds in southern Maine
Looking to our Sunline friends for some of your favorite camping places for next summer in southern ME.
Some needs:
The site needs to accommodate a 30ft travel trailer.
Having 30 amp electric at the site is nice, but we can boondock without power and do often.
If boondocking, the camp needs to have allowed generator hours to recharge our batteries.
Need access to fresh water.
The camp needs to have a dump station.
Wants:
We are more woodsy camping folks.
Trees are very welcome.
State park or state forest camp style is very nice.
A somewhat quite area, looking to be out in nature.
Bonus but not a mandate:
Near water campsites by lake or river or access to lake/river if site is inland.
A lake or pond to canoe on.
Camp roads that are paved to be able to ride a bike.
A local town somewhat near by with a small grocery store and or laundromat.
Do not need:
High end amenities.
We will not have children with us.
Thanks for any suggestions.
John & Cindy

facebook.com/WAcampground/ Give you a little more info, Jim the owner, (young man) has been interested in camp grounds since a child his family camped a good bit and he pestered the campground owners for info and took notes. It is a lifelong passion for him and he has done an amazing job with the campground that need some help. Beyond a doubt you won't be disappointed highly recommended. My land is about 1 mile away (80 acres) and I helped Jim when he first got the campground with various issues. Nice guy well run camp ground!
