Quick'n'easy pack-up day breakfast
Penny and I do what we call a "slow pack up" the last morning before hitting the road. We still enjoy our morning coffee outside and want a good breakfast to sustain us for the day's drive ahead. But we don't want dishes and food prep-related cleaning.
There's always a myriad of convenience foods to choose from: pre-packaged, frozen, toaster stuff, y'all know what I'm talking about. But, what fun is that? May as well go to Micky-D's.
Our favorite last-morning meal is a take off on "pigs in a blanket."
We pop open a can of crescent rolls and wrap them around sausage links. We use pre-cooked turkey sausage because they don't get greasy and soak into the rolls. Pop 'em in the oven while sipping coffee and serve with a good mustard on paper plates. Wipe off the baking sheet and the dishes are done. If you're not in pack 'em up mode, serve with scrambled eggs or dribble a little maple syrup on 'em. MMMM-MMMM, they'll make yo' tongue smack yo' eye teeth out.

You're welcome. Penny found a tube of crescent rolls in the back of the basement fridge about to expire so we had "Hokies-in-a-blanket" last Sunday. Served with home-grown tomatoes.
The name comes from using turkey sausage (Penny doesn't like pork sausage). The Virginia Tech sports teams used to be "The Gobblers" and they still have a turkey as a mascot.
Bone appetite,
Teach

Grab a roll of parchment paper.
Throw a piece down on your pan, clean up just became "throw the paper away".
Also, keeps stuff from sticking to the pan.
We use it to bake fish and chicken, making cookies, pigs-in-blankets.....it's handi stuff!!!
