A little organization here?

Hey just a thought.... (a rare moment, I know ) Is there a way to put sub-categories in this forum based on geographic location? that way, we could open the rea we are interested in visiting, rather than scroll through all of the reviews. (once this section gets going, that is) Just a random thought..

Hi Kathryn,

Good thought!

I started and have been maintaining the sticky Campgrounds & Travel Links for this specific purpose.

I have the campground reviews organized by state and province. Each time a member post a review of a campground I add it to the list. The list includes a link to the campground’s web site and a link to the review topic.

Any suggestion on how this could be improved would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I need to change the topics subject title to better indicate is purpose & intent or would some re-organization be better?

Thanks for your help and ideas.
Hutch

I like that idea! I haven't posted anything in here yet because that's one of those things that I'll get around to once the brochures and owner's manuals are done, but when I do post though, it would be nice to be able to put the flood of posts in corresponding categories. In a perfect world, the posts could be categorized by region, and then by state, but I don't know if that's possible.

WOW Hutch! YOU ROCK!!!

I did not realize all that was up there!

I was thinking that there was a way to open the "Campground Review" section into another forum menu that has been pre-divided into states/ regions. Is that even possible? I don't know I don't know if that is easy to do or not, but either way, keep up the great work, and THANKS!!!!!

Hi Kathryn,

I’m sure there’s a way to sub-divide a forum into individual categories. The Open Roads Forum has done that for their Toy Haulers forum.

However, Sarah and/or the web designer would have to do it. Moderators do not have authority to create forums (which is OK by me ). Sarah does so much now, I hate to put more work on her, but I sent her a PM with the suggestion to see if she can create the following categories in this forum:

> Northeast (which would encompass CT, MA, NY, VT, NH, ME, RI)
> Mideast (which would encompass DE, MD, PA, NJ, VA, WV)
> Southeast (which would encompass AL, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN)
> Midwest (which would encompass OH, MI, IL, IN, WI)
> North Central (which would encompass ND, SD, IA, NA, MN)
> South Central (which would encompass TX, KA, MO, OK, AR)
> Northwest (which would encompass WA, OR, MT, ID, WY)
> Southwest (which would encompass CA, NV, AZ, UT, CO, NM)
> Alaska & Hawaii
> Eastern Canada (which would encompass AB, BC, MB, NT, SK, YT)
> Western Canada (which would encompass NF, NL, NS, ON, PE, QC)

Hopefully I got all the state & province abbreviations correct

Hutch

Thanks to Sarah for setting up the Geographic region categories.

FYI - I will try and maintain the various regions for campground reviews only and move any general discussion topics to this forum (i.e., "General Campground Discussions").

Poor Man Campin'
It's amazing how much I miss when I can't/don't log on for several days! I like the regional organization, as I don't see us traveling too far for the next couple of years. Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder,

The regional campground forums are reserved for campground reviews.

The “General Campground Discussion” forum is for, as the name states, general discussions, questions, information, etc.

The intent is to make is easier to find campground reviews within the various regions by minimizing topics of general discussions within these forums.

I will be moving any topic that is of a general nature from the regional forums to the “General Campground Discussion”.

Thanks
Hutch – moderator.
