AZ - Lake Powell Camping - Waheep RV Park

We stayed at this campground after a week of drycamping in Monument Valley. It was like coming to a 5 star resort after the red dirt of Monument Valley.

Paved sites, picnic tables, BBQ Grills, and landscaped beautifully. The campground itself overlooks beautiful Lake Powell, and has a nice breeze blowing off the water. You're a 1/4 mile from the water, but the view makes you think you're right on top of it.

Here is a list of what the Campground offers:

30 and 50 amp service, water and septic, both Pull-Thru and Back-in
Spaces accommodate over 45', most up to 70'; only two vehicles per site; some double-wide spaces available.
Picnic table, charcoal grill and/or fire ring.
Restroom in each loop - Very Clean and well Maintained
Coin-operated laundry and shower facilities located at the store.
Resort swimming pool and Jacuzzi available to campground guests.
Free WiFi was installed at the campground. Connectivity varies due to our remote location, usage, weather and location in the park. Also available in the Lake Powell Resort lobby.
139 sites with Full Hook-Ups
60 extra large Pull-Through Spaces
Spectacular views
Convenient full service store and gift shop at the campground registration office.

The best part of this campground is it's location. Unlike many other campgrunds where you just pull in to rest for the night, or use as a stop over on your way to somewhere else, this is a destination Campground.

You could use this campground as a home base and stay busy for weeks with the amount of hikes, attractions and amazing things to do, that are all within a days drive of this location.

The little town of Page is right over the Glen Canyon Dam, and has anything and everything you'd need to restock, or pick up that item you forgot at home.

Way up on our list of places to stay! One thing I should mention was the stickers that kept the dogs from enjoying the place! One step off the concrete and their paws would be filled with the nasty Goat Heads that seem to be everywhere in the South West. That would be my only complaint!
