Interior Roads: Dirt/ Gravel, some asphalt. BIG BIG hill is asphalt. Various other hills are asphalt. Extremely hilly terrain, not too handicap friendly.
Level Sites: Some. Our site was at the very top of the BIG BIG hill, and was not level on either plane. The slope was so bad front to back that I had to jack up all the way, block the levelers, crank up the jack, and block underneath that too! Kinda scary until it was all locked down tight.
Wide/Open Sites: Sites have good space, but are a little dusty from time to time. Some of the sites were located in strange spots, little circles and shared access driveways.
Restroom Cleanliness: Good, due to hills it's a good idea to take your vehicle though.
Store: yes, well stocked, sundries, supplies, fishing tackle. and required firewood
Game Room: No, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, fishing, boat rentals
Pool: No, primitive pond swimming on site. Ocean beaches nearby
Campground Impressions:
This place is WHACKED. Quite strict rules, their firewood required, quiet hours by 10 pm, voices to whisper max.
Direct from their webpage;
"We are a peaceful, quiet, clean family Campground, no loud music, No Rap, No Hip Hop."
No, they're not kidding. Yes, it's a nice change, but wow. It's on the front door of the office when you show up, too. Not an issue for us, but wow.
There's a HUGE hill (got horsepower?) to get up to some sites, and the others are on rolling hills that you won't need to power up. You can get up the smaller hills to the topmost area if you don't want to try the hill.
Access to the dump station is from the base of the big hill, and into the dump area. I would HIGHLY recommend coming at it so the office is on your left, and you turn right into the dump area. There was a 29 or so footer that was going in as we were leaving, and he almost lost it (not mention the horrid noises coming from his frame) and nearly rolled over. It's very tight.
This would be a nice camp for singles or couples that want to use it as a jumping off point to explore Plymouth and the surrounding communities. We used it as a base to wander Plymouth for the two days we were there.
Kid Friendly: Not really, there's not a lot for them to do on-site
People Friendly: yes, as long as you don't like rap!
WiFi Friendly: Doubtful, but unsure
Cell Phone Coverage: yes, most major carriers
Pet Friendly: Somewhat, again from their rules: "All pets must be on a leash at all times, Do not leave dogs unattended, no dogs allowed on beach, ANY BARKING DOG, THE OWNER MUST EITHER TAKE IT HOME OR KENNEL IT". They do enjoy the quiet here...
Checkin- 1 pm
Checkout- 11 am, or be charged for another day.
Personal Comments:
Nice to visit the sights of the area from, but I doubt we'd come back. Just a little too strict, especially with the firewood. Even though it's relatively inexpensive, I'd rather just bring my free wood.
