First Camping trip this year

20190524_125018.jpg
Our first camping trip this season was to Mt. Blue State Park in Weld, Maine. The weather cooperated for the weekend and we had a great time. Most of their sites are dry camping only, though they had about 6-8 they were putting water and electric on. We had a fairly large site and it was fairly easy to level once we backed up the "driveway". The lake has a nice boat launch and is really scenic for a quiet canoe or kayak ride. There's also a sandy beach and shallow water for swimming, though it was a bit too cold for my taste. This is our first trip towing with my 08 Silverado and I noticed a lot of improvement over my TrailBlazer. As you can tell from the picture, my wife was pretty excited to get the camping season started.

Maybe the excitement was because you didn't hit anything backing in? Mine started May 3 at a ham radio thing in Deerfield NH little wet but OK.

Took my brand new 1999 T-1950 that I bought last fall and tinkered with all winter on its maiden voyage for the holiday. Went to a friend's campsite on the bank of the Susquehanna River about 30 miles from home.

Towing was flawless, and everything (except the weather) worked perfectly during the three days we were there. I think this one's a keeper.

Side note: I did the axle flip on this guy to gain 5-6" of ground clearance; glad I did. Noticed no difference at all in stability while towing.

We went for the holiday weekend too for the first time. Indian Lake SP in Ohio. We normally go a lot before this, but too much going on this year. The camping was great despite the weather! We did have some day time nice weather but it was short lived.

The weather was rainy starting early in weekend and keep on going on and off. Swamp sort of fits the description of mud and standing water. Next time, will be higher ground for this time of year since the weather has no idea what month we are in any more...

There was 19 recorded tornadoes Monday night in central Ohio. We stayed an extra day and went home Tuesday. We were on the very end of the heavy rains and was fortunately we had no extreme winds at camp, or when we got home. Cannot say that for all the other areas nearby.
